Manager - L&D

Role & responsibilities

• Training Program Creation: Design and implement training programs that are aligned with the organizations strategic objectives.
• Curriculum Development: Collaborate closely with leaders across the organization to create curriculums for all employees, focusing on core values, strategic imperatives, upskilling requirements, and just-in-time learning.
• Diverse Training Techniques: Develop training materials incorporating various styles of learning such as e-learning, video tutorials, coaching, and job-shadowing.
• Employee Growth Support: Facilitate the development of employees knowledge, skills, and capabilities to drive better business performance.
• Learning Management Systems (LMS): Manage and assess the effectiveness of the Learning Management System (LMS), including benchmarking and reporting.
• Promote Training Opportunities: Actively promote training programs to employees within the company.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Work with stakeholders to assess and identify training requirements.
• Budget and Contracts Management: Oversee training budgets, track costs, and negotiate contracts with external vendors.
• Support During Operational Change: Provide tailored learning opportunities during periods of operational change.
• Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with third-party training providers to ensure the organization has access to the most suitable L&D technology available.
• Annual Learning Strategy: Drive the development and execution of the organizations annual learning strategies.
• Learning Budget Management: Define the learning budget needs and ensure costs are tracked and followed up.
• Maintain Industry Knowledge: Stay up to date with the latest innovations, best practices, and trends in Learning and Development, ensuring these are articulated and implemented within the team.
• Regular Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate reporting of learning initiatives and their effectiveness.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience: 5-7 years of experience as an L&D Specialist/Manager or in a similar role.
• Skills:
• Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Strong public speaking and presentation abilities.
• Experience in delivering trainings and learning interventions.
• Ability to understand priorities and work efficiently under pressure while adapting to changing priorities.
• Strong team spirit and management skills.
• Proactive, approachable, and receptive to change.
• Digitally literate with proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with a range of e-learning platforms.
• Proficient in Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Experience in project management and budgeting.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to build rapport with employees and vendors.
• Industry Knowledge: Up-to-date with the latest L&D developments (theory, technology, and best practices) and the ability to clearly and confidently communicate these to the team.
