Chief Manager - Engineering

Role & responsibilities

1. Lead and manage new technology projects related to EV, ensuring timely delivery and successful implementation.
2. Handle any scope changes or adjustments in the project, ensuring that all changes are assessed for timing, impact, and feasibility within the vehicle launch timeline.
3. Conduct detailed reviews of drawings, engineering calculations, digital mock-ups, and ensure final BOM aligns with cost targets.
4. Oversee simulation, testing, and validation, including review of reports to ensure products meet quality and performance standards.
5. Lead the design, development and integration with R&D, production, QA, and other teams, ensuring alignment across all functions of EV vehicle design and fleet management.
6. Identify opportunities to monetize connected vehicle data. Work closely with data scientists, engineers and external partners to unlock new revenue models.
7. Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, marketing, legal) and external partners (vendors, suppliers) to align project goals and requirements.
8. Stay up to date with the latest in automotive technology (EV), connected services, and emerging trends in mobility and payments. Propose innovative solutions to enhance customer engagement.
9. Ensure that all projects adhere to industry standards, data security regulations, and best practices in cybersecurity, particularly for payment systems.
10. Define product specifications and technical parameters based on customer requirements and oversee concept reviews and approvals.
11. Collaborate with the Business Unit (BU) to finalize product features and performance standards.
12. Lead the adoption of new mechanical technologies to enhance product innovation.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Engineering Graduate with Minimum 10 Years of Experience in Automotive & Electric Vehicle.
2. Extensive familiarity with international automotive standards with understanding of OEM functioning.
3. Strong experience in integration processes, including Automotive design, wiring harnesses, and Battery Management Systems (BMS), Fleet Management.
4. Deep knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and safety principles.
5. Expertise in thermal management, including cooling jacket design, coolant flow calculations, heat exchangers, and heat sinks.
6. Strong problem-solving abilities with experience in root cause analysis, production line, and quality issue management.
7. Good understanding of Connected car systems & overall telematics architecture
8. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Good Excel & PowerPoint skills to prepare detailed reports and worksheets.
10. Must have a good understanding of Indian Automotive scenario & its customer.
