Purchase Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Manager/Sr. Manager of Purchase. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective sourcing of materials. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent negotiation skills and a strong understanding of procurement best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing and Procurement:

Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to meet organizational objectives.

Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.

Cost Management:

Analyze market trends and pricing to negotiate competitive rates.

Work towards cost optimization without compromising quality standards.

Supplier Relationship Management:

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability and timely delivery.

Address any issues or discrepancies in collaboration with stakeholders.

Purchase Planning:

Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement needs.

Develop and execute procurement plans to meet project timelines.

Contract Management:

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers to establish clear terms and conditions.

Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and resolve any deviations.

Process Improvement:

Continuously review and enhance procurement processes for increased efficiency.

Introduce best practices and technology solutions to optimize the procurement lifecycle.

Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Conduct data analysis to identify areas for improvement and potential cost reduction.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience (10-15 years) in a procurement role, with at least [2-3 years] in a managerial capacity.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of procurement regulations, market trends, and supplier dynamics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using procurement software and tools. (Working knowledge of SAP is a plus)
