Procurement Manager

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Total Logistics Management

• Oversee domestic and international logistics processes.
• Maintain daily communication with delivery companies to manage increased domestic transport volumes.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with domestic customers and branch employees.
• Prepare and manage customs documents for imports and exports.
• Schedule and communicate with forwarders for international shipments.
• Analyze and propose improvements to logistics processes for optimization.
• Identify delivery costs and implement cost-reduction measures.
• Manage transportation risks and plan countermeasures.

2. Supplier Management

• Select and research appropriate suppliers for materials and parts procurement.
• Develop new supplier relationships in addition to managing existing ones.
• Negotiate purchase prices and delivery dates to ensure fair terms.

3. Departmental Coordination

• Collaborate with planning, development, manufacturing, and other departments to ensure timely material delivery.
• Clarify and plan the type, quantity, delivery date, and price of required materials.
• Oversee the entire process from placing orders to delivering materials to the respective departments.

4. Quotation, Order Placement, and Delivery Date Management

• Estimate and place orders based on planned schedules.
• Confirm timely delivery of ordered materials.

5. Inspection and Acceptance

• Conduct inspection and acceptance checks to ensure quality and quantity standards are met.

6. Supplier Visits

• Visit domestic and overseas suppliers as necessary to coordinate and manage procurement processes.

7. Procurement and Delivery Process Management

• Monitor and coordinate the procurement and delivery processes to avoid delays.

8. Inventory Management

• Check inventory counts and plan appropriate procurement timings.
• Prepare and maintain inventory lists.
• Report inventory costs to the accounting team or firm as required.

9. Procurement Cost Management

• Develop future procurement cost plans in coordination with related departments.

10. Team Management

• Lead and manage the procurement and logistics team, providing direction, mentorship, and support.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify and address training and development needs within the team.

11. KPI Management

• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement and logistics activities.
• Analyze KPI data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Implement strategies to achieve and exceed KPI targets.
• Regularly report on KPI performance to executive management and recommend corrective actions as needed.

• Experience: Practical experience in procurement within the manufacturing industry.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi.

• Self-Motivation: Self-disciplined, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in standard computer applications including Word, Excel, email, and online communication tools (e.g., Slack).
