Manager Procurement - Civil

Apeejay Education requires Manager Procurement - Civil for its central office located at Panchsheel Park, New Delhi.

Summary of Job : The incumbent will be managing the entire sphere of procurement starting from identifying needs, qualifying vendors, providing specifications, and placing orders to overseeing the complete process and coordinating with vendors for continuous cost optimization and quality improvement.

• Create and implement procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporate the growing complexities and challenges
• Evaluates new and existing suppliers and subcontractors and negotiates procurement agreements with them.
• Develop purchasing or sourcing strategies based on portfolio analyses and vendor preferencing study.
• Scrutinizes the specifications of material and approvals on requisitions.
• Define and maintain documented category and vendor/supplier strategies using market and competitive data.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly purchase reports
• Ensure adherence to all the compliances related to safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations
• List down quality of materials required in conjunction with Management
• Coordinate with vendor on continuous quality improvement.
• Prepare Purchase Orders, follows up and ensures timely purchase and arrival of goods.

• Gather, analyze and diverse information .
• Maintain confidentiality in work and to exhibit sound and accurate judgment if needed.
• Meet commitments and to contribute effectively to profits and revenue, providing good service and assistance in response to Management requirements.
• Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
• Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
• Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
• Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs

Job Knowledge (Prerequisite)

• Proven working experience as a Procurement Manager, Procurement Officer or Head of Procurement in Civil
• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
• Excellent negotiations and networking skills
• Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
• Experience in collecting and analysing data
• To work with integrity and ethically and to cooperate with superiors and subordinates.

• In-depth knowledge of contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Problem solver with a strong analytical mindset
• Good organizational and time management skills

Education Qualification & Experience :

• B.Tech

• 8+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing in Civil /Construction
