Role Overview:.
- We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Public Companies to join our team.
- The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of public companies, their classification, and how they are segregated based on industry standards and market dynamics.
- This individual will be responsible for guiding the team in identifying key data fields for curation on our platform and recommending reliable data sources to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness.
- The role demands expertise in public company structures, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:.
Expertise in Public Companies:.
Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of public companies, including:.
- Segmentation based on market capitalization (Large-Cap, Mid-Cap, Small-Cap). Industry classifications (e. , NAICS, GICS, SIC codes).
- Regional, sectoral, and regulatory distinctions.
- Analyze trends in public company performance, governance, and reporting.
Data Field Curation:.
- Identify and define important fields to curate for public companies, including:.
- Basic details (Company Name, Ticker Symbol, ISIN, Sector, Industry).
- Financial metrics (Revenue, EBITDA, P/E Ratio, Market Cap, Dividends).
- Operational data (Employees, Headquarters, Founding Year).
- Compliance and disclosures (Annual Reports, ESG Metrics, 10-K, 10-Q).
- Design metadata and classification systems for streamlined data organization.
- Data Source Identification:.
Research and recommend reliable data sources, such as:.
- Stock exchanges (NYSE, NASDAQ, LSE, etc.
- Regulatory bodies (SEC, MCA, etc.
- Financial data providers (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, S&P Capital IQ).
- Public filings, annual reports, and investor presentations.
- Establish relationships with data providers to ensure data quality and accessibility.
Regulatory and Compliance Awareness:.
- Ensure curated data adheres to relevant regulations, such as SEC filings or regional disclosure requirements.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting public companies and guide the team accordingly.
Performance Monitoring:.
- Regularly review and improve the accuracy and relevance of curated public company data.
- Provide recommendations for platform improvements to enhance data usability and user experience.
Qualifications and Skills:.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CFA, CPA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Experience :
- 5+ years of experience in financial research, public company analysis, or related domains.
- Strong understanding of public company structures, reporting standards, and market operations.
Technical Skills:.
- Familiarity with financial data tools and platforms (e. , Bloomberg, Refinitiv, FactSet, etc.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, SQL, BI tools).
