Asst. Manager - Commercial & Regulatory (Power Sector)

GIFTCL invites application for the position of Assistant Manager - Commercial & Regulatory (Power Sector). This is a contractual position for a period of 5 years. The remuneration will be commensurate with qualification and experience.

The candidate should have done B.E. in any stream and preferably MBA/PGDM or BA LLB in Energy Laws with 0-5 years of experience. Detailed job description is as under,

• Planning for Power Purchase through various sources available in the market.
• Perform Front-end and Post Trading Activities including Demand Forecasting, Bidding and Scheduling of Power.
• Responsible for day-to-day monitoring of Power Purchase Transactions from LTOA/MTOA and Power Exchanges.
• Verification and Validation of Power Purchase Bills, OA Charges and losses, UI and Reactive Energy Charges and processing the same.
• Prepare and Monitor Financial MIS dashboards Profit & Loss, Landed Cost Calculation, Power Costing Sheets and perform analysis of daily/monthly MIS.
• Assist in preparation of various Petitions as per organizational requirements and filing them before Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC).
• Attend Scheduled Hearings, Public Hearings and represent the case before Honble Commission on behalf of GIFT Power Company Limited.
• Drafting of Petitions, Letters and Affidavits for submission to GERC/SLDC/GETCO.
• Tracking, Analysis and preparation of summary/comments on regulations/orders/notifications issued by CERC/GERC/APTEL/MoP/ MNRE and sharing know-hows of power markets.
• Prepare Regulatory Compliance Reports as per organizational requirements for further submission to concerned authorities.
• Deep understanding of Power Markets & Regulations and keep a tab on how Power Sector is shaping up and align the inputs on existing matters of the organization.

Competencies Required :

• Excellent Communication Skills including Drafting and Presentation.
• Critical Thinking - must be able to examine and process available information and draw logical conclusions from their findings.
• Knowledge of Power Sector Regulations, Working of Distribution Licensees, Power Market Structure and some of the upcoming Power Sector Developments.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
