Ass. Engineer / Asst. Manager - Electrical (Distribution-O&M)

GIFTCL invites application for the position of Assistant Engineer / Assistant Manager - Electrical (Distribution-O&M). This is a contractual position for a period of 5 years. The remuneration will be commensurate with qualification and experience.

The candidate should have done Bachelors degree in Electrical engineering / Diploma in Electrical engineering from reputed institute with minimum 3-5 years of experience. Detailed job description is as under,

• Operation and Maintenance of Power Network equipment as and when required.
• Routine Inspection condition monitoring of HT/LT Switchboard panels, Electrical Equipments, Street Light Network, FSP, MSP etc.
• Effective Planning of entire power system for Preventive maintenance, Testing, Calibration etc.
• Trouble Shooting of Control wiring, HT/LT switchgear, Transformer, Street Light Network, HT/LT Cables, FSP, MSP etc.
• Trouble Shooting, Repairing, Rerouting of HT/LT Cable Distribution network.
• Time to time Update necessary changes in network for ease of operation.
• Reports Preparation of day-to-day activities & keep records like LC permit, Logbook etc.
• Proper Handling of Documents, Drawings, Certificates etc.
• Accounting and forecasting of Spares & Consumables.
• Keep & Maintain, Records, manuals, tools Tackles, Safety gears, etc.
• Co-ordination and supervision of works at site.
• Liaise with contractors & Clients.
• Daily work monitoring, recording, and reporting.
• Responsible for maintaining site safety standards.

Competencies Required :

• Experience in Power Distribution network, HT/LT Cables, 11kV & 33kV CSS/RMU, FSP, MSP, HT & LT Cable Jointing work etc.
• Must have knowledge of Fault Locator, Megger, Cable Testing Equipments etc.
• Experience in identify and rectify the (HT/LT) Cable faults, Cable Termination & Jointing work.
• Must have the ability to read and understand equipment manuals and wiring diagrams.
• Must have the ability to communicate clear and concise verbal instructions and information to coworkers, customers and others.
• Must be aware of the regulations notified under the State and Central Electricity Regulator.
• Shall be proficient in computer (MS Word & Excel).
• Train other personnel in job-related operations.
• Shall have experience in Coordination with Contractors, labors, office team etc.
• Perform work with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
• Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work in shifts.
• Ability to work in a group, must have the ability to work as a member of a team.
• Hardworking, with good knowledge of handling site and team, effective communication skills,
• Experience of recording of works, billing, physical verification for payment, and audit purpose.
