Fire Officer - Building Permission and Plan Approvals

GIFTCL invites application for the position of Fire Officer - Building Permission and Plan Approvals. The remuneration will be commensurate with qualification and experience.

The candidate should have done Bachelor of Engineering/ Technology from any AICTE recognized Institution with minimum 10 year hands on experience in examination of fire and life safety plans & measures with experience in any reputed real estate company, MEPF consultancy firms with sufficient exposure in designing fire safety in high rise buildings. Detailed job description is as under,

• Assess fire safety plans submitted by developers and architects at GIFT City, ensuring compliance with the National Building Code (NBC), Indian Standards, and other applicable state regulations.
• Analyze fire plan drawings and architectural layouts to validate the integration of fire safety measures.
• Verify that building designs incorporate sufficient fire protection, prevention, and life safety measures.
• Evaluate the adequacy of fire exits, escape routes, and fire suppression systems in the submitted drawings.
• Ensure the proper placement and functionality of firefighting equipment and systems.
• Engage with developers, architects, and other stakeholders to facilitate compliance and address any concerns.
• Keep accurate records of reviewed fire plans and compliance checks, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
• Generate and submit reports on fire safety plan approvals and compliance status on demand authorities.
• Create and update fire safety guidelines and protocols for developers and architects to follow.
• Oversee periodic fire safety inspections during & after construction and post occupancy to ensure adherence to approved safety plans.

Competencies Required :

• In-depth knowledge of fire safety regulations, including the National Building Code (NBC), Indian Standards & codes related to fire safety, Statutory norms etc.
• Proficiency in interpreting fire plan drawings and architectural layouts.
• Strong analytical skills to assess fire safety measures and equipment.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to interact with various stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry developments.
• Experience in conducting fire safety audits and inspections.
