The Purchase Head Services Procurement will be responsible for leading the procurement of services, managing vendor relationships, optimizing costs, and ensuring timely availability of required services. This role involves strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, service agreements management, and compliance with procurement policies. Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and cost optimization skills are essential.


Responsibilities:


Strategic Procurement & Sourcing:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to optimize service quality, costs, and supplier performance.
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish long-term relationships with service providers.
  • Align procurement strategies with business and operational requirements.

Service Agreements, Purchase Order & Contract Management:

  • Oversee the creation, negotiation, and management of service contracts and agreements.
  • Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met by vendors.
  • Monitor compliance with contractual terms and address any deviations.
  • Ensure all POs comply with company policies, budgets, and contractual agreements.

Vendor & Supplier Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key service providers and vendors.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms to ensure cost-effective service procurement.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and performance monitoring based on service quality, delivery, and compliance.

Cost Optimization & Budget Control:

  • Implement cost-reduction strategies without compromising service quality.
  • Manage procurement budgets, analyze spending trends, and optimize service-related expenses.
  • Identify bulk service agreements and negotiate favorable pricing.

Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:

  • Work with supply chain and production teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Prevent overstocking and shortages through demand forecasting and procurement planning.
  • Ensure timely replenishment of critical materials to avoid production delays.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, legal regulations, and company guidelines.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to vendor dependency, pricing fluctuations, and service disruptions.
  • Drive ethical and transparent procurement practices.

Team Leadership & Process Improvement:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Streamline procurement workflows through automation tools and ERP systems.
  • Continuously improve service procurement processes for better productivity and cost savings.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams to understand service needs and ensure seamless procurement.
  • Coordinate with finance, legal, and compliance teams for effective vendor management.
  • Address any service-related issues and ensure quick resolution.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in service procurement within IT, education, or corporate environments preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Strong budgeting, analytical, and cost-control abilities.
  • Leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
