Civil Site Lead - Solar EPC

Role & responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all civil construction activities, including land development, foundations, fencing, trenching, roads, drainage systems, and building construction for inverters and switchgear.
• Prepare and implement construction schedules, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
• Inspect the quality of construction materials and ensure compliance with standards and guidelines.
• Work closely with project managers, electrical engineers, procurement teams, and contractors to align civil activities with overall project goals.
• Monitor and evaluate contractor performance, ensuring all deliverables meet project standards.
• Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies and clients during inspections or project evaluations.
• Ensure all civil works adhere to safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols at construction sites to minimize risks and incidents.
• Prepare and submit compliance reports as per local regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of civil construction processes, materials used, and any deviations from the original plans.
• Provide regular progress reports to project managers and highlight potential risks or delays.
• Assist in preparing as-built drawings and project handover documentation.
• Track project expenses related to civil works and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates for civil works within the project.

Preferred candidate profile

• Proven track record of managing large-scale solar EPC projects.
• 5 - 8 years of experience in civil construction, preferably in renewable energy or solar projects
• Understanding of soil testing, geotechnical studies, and structural engineering principles.
• Familiarity with solar project-specific civil components like mounting structures and tracker systems.
