Electrical Draughtsman - Solar

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts for solar PV systems, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable routing, and panel layouts.
• Develop project-specific drawings, such as earthing layouts, junction box details, and inverter connections.
• Ensure designs are compliant with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Work closely with electrical engineers to interpret and implement technical requirements into drawings.
• Update and modify designs based on feedback from engineers, project managers, and clients.
• Maintain and organize project documentation, including revisions and versions of drawings.
• Adhere to company and industry drafting standards to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Incorporate site-specific conditions, such as terrain and building structures, into design layouts.
• Assist in preparing installation and as-built drawings for construction and commissioning teams.
• Utilize CAD (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software) to produce high-quality and accurate designs.
• Update drawings to reflect on-site changes or revised project requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma or certification in Electrical Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-7 years of experience in electrical drafting, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry.
• Proficiency in drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical systems, and related components.
