Job Description
Job Title: Head Chef
Location: Bangalore (Domlur) Including Accommodation.
The Head Chef is a vital leadership role within our kitchen, responsible for overseeing the overall operations and culinary direction of our establishment. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a diverse and seasonal menu.
- Lead kitchen staff in preparing dishes, ensuring presentation and taste quality.
- Manage kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering supplies, and reducing waste.
- Hire, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Monitor food preparation and cooking processes for consistency and quality.
- Quickly resolve any customer complaints about food quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
- Collaborate with management to manage food costs and budgets effectively.
- Create and conduct regular kitchen staff meetings to ensure alignment on goals and standards.
- Stay current with industry trends to keep the menu innovative and appealing.
- Ensure all kitchen activities are carried out in line with the companys sustainability practices.
- Assist in developing promotional events and special menus.
- Evaluate and enhance kitchen procedures, systems, and equipment.
- Perform regular checks of food quality and presentation before serving.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role.
- Formal culinary training or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in various cooking techniques and styles.
- Extensive knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to manage kitchen staff effectively, including training and development.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Experience managing food costs and inventory.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Creativity in menu planning and gastronomic techniques.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Familiarity with computer software for inventory and order management.
