Job Description

Role Summary:


The incumbent will be responsible for driving business growth by developing and executing strategies for the sale of iron ore and pellets in domestic and international markets. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing client relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring competitive pricing strategies. The incumbent will analyze market trends, competitor activities, and steel industry demand-supply dynamics to optimize sales performance and revenue generation.


Additionally, the role requires close collaboration with logistics, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment and timely delivery. A strong understanding of global commodity markets, iron ore pricing mechanisms, and customer needs is crucial. The ideal candidate will possess excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills to enhance the company's market position and drive profitability.


Responsibilities:


Sales & Business Development:

  • To identify and develop new customers for iron ore and pellets in domestic and international markets.
  • To manage and grow relationships with existing clients, traders, and end-users.
  • To negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with buyers.

Market Research & Strategy:

  • To analyze market trends, demand-supply dynamics, and competitor activities in the iron ore and pellet segment.
  • To develop and implement marketing strategies to maximize revenue and market share.
  • To track global and domestic steel industry trends that impact iron ore and pellet sales.

Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination:

  • To collaborate with logistics teams for smooth transportation, shipment planning, and inventory management.
  • To optimize supply chain routes to ensure cost-effective and timely deliveries.

Customer Relationship Management

  • To build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the steel, mining, and trading sectors.
  • To address client concerns, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • To ensure compliance with export-import regulations, environmental norms, and industry standards.
  • To manage sales documentation, contracts, and financial transactions.

Preferred candidate profile:


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's/Masters degree in Business, Marketing, Metallurgy, Mining, or related fields.
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years of proven experience in sales & marketing within the metals, mining, or steel industry (preferably iron ore and pelletizing).

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of iron ore pricing mechanisms (index-based, long-term contracts, spot markets).
  • Understanding of logistics, port operations, and international trade policies.

Other Skills

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent Negotiation and analytical skills.
