Metrics and Reporting Analyst

The opportunity

EY s global enterprise technology group provides various enabling services (ERP, infrastructure, platforms, service desk) to assist over 300K employees in creating and delivering solutions and services to Fortune 500, privately held and government-like entities.

The Reporting Analyst is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of reporting systems that provide critical business insights. This role involves gathering data from various sources, ensuring its accuracy, and developing reports that inform strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data analysis, proficiency in reporting tools, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to stakeholders across the organization.

Your key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and scorecards that track key business metrics.
• Gather data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency in reporting.
• Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive business decisions.
• Work closely with business units to understand their reporting needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Continuously evaluate and improve reporting processes and tools for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide training and support to users on how to access and interpret reports.
• Collaborate with IT and data teams to ensure data quality and the integration of reporting systems.
• Manage ad-hoc reporting requests and deliver timely responses to business inquiries.

To qualify for the role you must have

• Proven experience in a reporting or data analysis role.
• Experience in design, develop and deployment of rich Graphic visualizations with Drill Down and Drop up options using Power BI
• Experience in creating Power BI Reports using multiple sources. Responsible for deploying the dashboards into Power BI service (cloud-based business analytic service). Responsible for performed performance tuning on SQL Server queries and stored procedures
• Responsible for creating calculated members, measures and named sets using DAX Queries. Responsible for creating the tables and their relationships in the data Modelling.Experience with all types of transformations that are available in Power BI query editor.
• Experience with Scheduled Automatic refresh and scheduling refresh in power bi service along with using Power BI gateway.
• Developed analysis reports and visualization using DAX functions like table function, aggregation function and iteration functions
• Creating Row level security with power bi and integration with Power BI service portal. Integrated custom visuals based on business requirement using power BI desktop.
• Deliver advanced/complex reporting solutions such as Dashboards and Standardized reports using Power BI Desktop
• Strong End to end experience in designing and deploying data visualizations using Power BI.
• Experience in using Python and R scripts in Power BI dashboards
• Experience with Advanced Reporting and Dashboards in Power BI.
• Strong proficiency in MS SQL Server and prior experience in MS SQL Server performance tuning- Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, including transactions, error handling, CTEs, Row_Number/Over, hierarchical data sets. - Excellent understanding of indexes, locks, execution plans and file stats-
• Should have a working knowledge about load balancing- Adhere to coding standards and produce high quality code.
• Experienced as MS SQL Server Database developer - Programming stored procedures, views and functions. - SQL server performance tuning. - Designing & developing database tables.- Creating & tweaking indexes.
• Ensure smooth ETL and data flows execution, data assembly, cleansing, validation, data modelling and documentation
• Strong analytic mindset and logical thinking capability, strong QC mindset
• ServiceNow Reporting with solid understanding of ServiceNow data model will be plus.
• Conveys the designs to the software development teams via discussion, documentation and prototype code
• Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
• Over 4+ years of experience in IT support services, with significant reporting experience in managing large-scale data & reporting requirements.
• Good knowledge of IT Services functions and their responsibilities and strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• The ability to work and team effectively with business, management personnel, and diverse and geographically dispersed teams
• Basic reporting skills
• Possess innovative mindset by being open to new ideas and works comfortably with global teams

• Excellent English language skills (verbal and written),
• Excellent communication, collaboration and basic project management skills
• Good presentation skills with ability to present material clearly and concisely
• Excellent awareness of different cultures and working practices across the regions
• Proven experience in working in, and basic management of, diverse and geographically dispersed teams

What we look for

• Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Data science or any other relevant certification is preferred
• Strong Experience in Data Visualization in BI tool i.e. Design, develop and deployment of end to end Reporting solution using Microsoft Power BI stack
• Experience of designing and implementing data engineering, ingestion and curation functions on the Azure cloud using Azure native or custom programming
• Experience in designing, building and operationalizing large-scale enterprise data solutions and applications using one or more of Azure data and analytics services in combination with custom solutions - Spark, HDInsights, Azure Data Lake, SQL DB/DW etc.
• Hands-on experience analysing, re-architecting and re-platforming on-premise data warehouses to data platforms on Azure cloud using Azure/custom services
• Exposure of architecting and implementing next-generation data and analytics platforms on Azure cloud ANSI / SQL Queries & Stored Procedures, Views, Database Tables, Indexes design and SQL Server performance tuning
• SQL Agent Jobs + SSIS + SSRS + SSAS (MS BI Tools or similar ETL tools like Informatica) and Data Modelling
• ANSI SQL Queries & Performance Tuning
• ITIL Foundation certification is preferred

Secondary skills (Optional)

• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Experience in Agile Methodology for Development
• Experience working with Big Data and tools
• ServiceNow Performance Analytics reporting module is an added advantage
• Python is an added advantage
• ServiceNow Reporting with solid understanding of ServiceNow data model is plus
