Job Description
- In addition to specific competencies required for your role, you will also focus on
- developing the following in relation to firm-wide competencies
- Review and analysis of indirect tax returns including VAT, GST and Withholding Tax
- etc.
- Handling tax documentation remediation projects (All types of forms W-8s and W-9s
- review) for both chapter 3 and chapter 4 reporting perspectives.
- Should have knowledge on filing forms 1042-S and 1099
- Should be ready to work on various countries tax practices
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement
- Identify the issues on an engagement, try to resolve and bring it to the attention of
- the Assistant Managers or Managers.
- Encouraging others to ask critical questions and share their ideas and concerns
- openly
- Provide balanced and constructive feedback with specific behavioural examples to
- the team members
- Developing strengths and opportunities collaboratively with team members by
- encouraging people to take action following feedback
- Contributing to a positive team environment by demonstrating consistent commitment
- and optimism towards work challenges
- Maintaining focus of team members on work products; holding others accountable for
- timely completion of high-quality work
- Focusing team members on key quality drivers for work assignments
- Building positive relationships with internal professionals and client personnel by
- demonstrating integrity and genuineness.
Skills and attributes for success
- Develop, mentor, and supervise Analysts and Advanced Analysts.
- Assist the Manager in engagement management
- Communicate directly with the engagement teams in other offices
- Proactively recognize issues and recommend solutions
- Demonstrate professionalism and poise in demeanor, attitude, communication,
- behavior and interaction with others
- Proactively seek opportunities to diversify client load and exposure to different teams.
- Foster collaboration and constructive communication within the team
- Demonstrate basic presentation and public speaking skills, while actively
- participating in meetings
- Communicate in face-to-face situations, by phone and via email, and determine the
- appropriate mechanism for communicating, given the situation
- Communicate your progress and the project status to supervisors worldwide
- Take ownership of your schedule and proactively seek work when necessary to meet
- your annual chargeability goal
- Adhere to practice protocol and other internal processes consistently
Ideally, you ll also have
- Communicate effectively, being able to adapt communications to target audiences
- and interacting effectively in person, by phone and in writing
- Good analytical, numeric and people management skills
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications like word, excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to make, present and drive project plans, business cases, etc.
Education
- The ideal candidate will have a BCOM/MBA/ Other Finance Masters
Experience
- 3 to 5 years relevant work experience in Tax operations or related discipline
- Bank/Financial Institutions Knowledge Products, services, IRS regulations, Tax
- Operations
- Experience on accounts and Indirect tax knowledge will be an added advantage
Additional Skills requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Advance Excel, PowerPoint and Projects.
- Quick learner with excellent communication skills, team orientation, and ability to
- work with counterparts in different areas of organization
- Good knowledge on posting journal entries and accounting concepts
- Solution oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Strong client service focus; responsive to request and capable of maintaining a
- sense of urgency in resolving issues
- Able to demonstrate the ability to deliver quality analysis with tight deadlines and take
- full ownership of your work while learning diligently on the job.
