Overview

Corporate Reporting Services Team (CRS)/ India IFRS Desk contributes to building a better working world by enabling and promoting quality assurance services to serve the public interest and capital markets. The mission of the Group is to perform the following with independence, integrity and objectivity:

• Enable teams to deliver highest quality assurance services through consultation and robust guidance, enablers and training content
• Provide stakeholders with proactive thought leadership on key topics affecting the profession
• Monitor and evaluate the Assurance practice’s system of quality control

CRS works with the Assurance practice on all aspects of IFRS, Ind AS, Indian GAAP, Companies Act, SEBI and other regulatory requirements. The Desk is closely linked to Ernst & Young’s EMEIA and Global IFRS Desks. The Desk also works closely with key regulators toward development of new/ emerging accounting literature.

CRS members gain valuable experience working with senior leaders and collaborating with stakeholders on critical/ emerging issues and standard-setting activities, while expanding their network at the firm. CRS members may lead or get involved in a number of activities, including assisting in researching and resolving technical questions; developing publications and learning programs; dealing with regulators and standard-setters and monitoring quality throughout the firm, etc. Working with CRS allows person a greater exposure to different subject matter areas and collaboration with various topical leaders in a way that drives a multi-faceted understanding of issues and their resolution.

Post qualification experience

Core Competencies

• Proficient in IFRS and Ind AS frameworks
• Extensive experience with Schedule III to the Companies Act, 2013, and the accompanying Guidance Note
• Strong aptitude for analyzing and interpreting complex accounting transactions
• Expertise in researching accounting matters, including industry practices, large-firm literature, and global guidance
• Excellent interpretative and analytical skills

CRS members will have varying responsibilities, including:

• Serve as consultative resource to audit teams and clients for both IFRS, Ind AS and Indian GAAP matters.
• Perform Technical Review of Financial Statements prepared as per IFRS/ Ind AS
• Monitor and participates in standard-setting activities and professional working groups and committees.
• Represent the Firm on accounting matters in various venues (e.g., internal and external webcasts, client presentations.)
• Develop the Firm’s thought leadership on accounting and financial reporting matters for EY professionals, clients and external stakeholders.
• Lead the Professional Practice Expert networks.
• Develop/ Review content for accounting learning materials.
• Contribute to industry specific expertise provided by the Industry Group.
• Participate in Global/ EMEIA IFRS subject matter groups that discuss implementation issues and client-specific matters.
