Job Title: Business Analyst - Leadership Product Line
The opportunity
The Business Analyst (BA) is the connection point between the Product Line Lead as we'll as Report Advisors and the technical and Quality Assurance (QA) teams. The BA translates functional requirements into detailed technical specifications, supports the development cycle and drives functional validation until enhancements and resolved defects are ready to be moved into Production. Additionally, the BA provides end-user support, reviews regular data updates, conducts functional and data-related validations and sends out communications when necessary. The Leadership product line is a new product line and focused on senior business management roles as we'll as their appropriate teams with responsibility on organizational entities, like Global, Area, Region as we'll as Service Lines. The target audience has Profit & Loss as we'll as Markets (Global TER, Account Margin and Sales & Pipeline). It is planned to build a new tool for this audience. The main responsibility is to manage the continuous enhancement and defect management of the tools and reports as we'll as ensure smooth operations and good & timely customer support.
The Reporting and Data Analytics sub-function (R&DA) is a leading-edge organization providing powerful analytical solutions to evolve our ability to provide insights to the business. The R&DA ensures that EY is keeping pace with the many analytical and technological changes taking place in the business world, evolving our tools and the way we look at information, to best support the client serving as we'll as corporate responsibilities in a rapidly changing business world.
Your key responsibilities
- Turn solutions designs into requirements (user stories) including acceptance criteria ensuring quality, consistency, ease-of-use and alignment with overall design principles
- Moderate between the technical and QA teams as we'll as the customer facing Report Advisor roles
- Identify opportunities to enhance the reporting tools and optimize as we'll as stabilize the underlying process and quality checks
- Coordinate with technical & QA teams based on agreed roadmap
- Validate enhancements as we'll as resolved defects from a functional and also data accuracy point of view
- Review defects (SNOW), support their remediation and support customers
- Work closely with QA team to define validation criteria and activities and helps prioritizing defects ensuring high quality of deliverables
- Support R&DA internal and external User Acceptance Test (UAT) activities
- Work hand in hand with the senior BA and the entire BA team
- Support report advisors by providing functional input and support for design and training sessions
- Review and learn from solutions of other product line teams to ensure consistency and usability
Skills and attributes for success
- Experience in in project management - agile/scrum project management would be beneficial
- Good communication with the ability to flex between functional and technical conversations
- Overview of EY s end-to-end processes customers need to go through and that are critical in reporting (eg financial accounting rules and month-end close activities, engagement and opportunity life cycles incl. pricing, budgeting, ETC, utilization, planning) as we'll EY s key management structures
- Understanding of the EY s financial business rules, KPIs and the key source systems (eg Mercury, Dynamics, MDM, P&B, GRP)
- Light experience with UX design and requirement documentation
- Familiarity with data and root cause analysis as we'll as data validation
- Experience or interest in technical solutions and analysing data, preferable knowledge about SQL, Power BI, dimensional models and cubes
- Solution oriented and problem solving skills
- Detail oriented, analytical, structural work approach as we'll as emphasis on quality and consistency
- Fluent English skills

Experience
To qualify for the role you must have
- 3 or more years of experience in a finance or technical department
- Some relevant business experience within EY would be beneficial
- High motivation to learn from your experienced colleagues
