GCP DevOps L2 Support Engineer

What is expected in this role?

You will work completely in the Google Cloud environment. This requires experience in a mix of DevOps, Production Support, Managed Services, Datadog (or any similar tools). In addition, you would also require extended support on calls including weekends.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ready to work in rotational shifts (5:30 AM to 2:30 PM / 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM / 9:30 PM to 6:30 AM), change in the shift probably once in a month
2. Good Troubleshooting & Client Handling skills
3. Providing production support on GKE infrastructure
4. Good understanding on Google Services and their basic configurations (IAM, Network, GKE, Dataproc, Dataflow, Composer, Firewall Rules, Load Balancers Native, Cloud DNS, Cloud KMS, Service Mesh, Config Management policy, etc.)
5. Good understanding of Google Cloud Platform, GCP Services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Networking, etc.) and GKE/Kubernetes including cluster management, deployments, scaling
6. Familiarity with DevOps practices, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD, Helm Charts, Asrgo CD, etc.), and infrastructure as code (IAC / Terraform)
7. Availability Management - Monitoring & Reporting, Perform Daily Health-checks
8. Event Management - Monitoring Applications, Platform, Systems, Tickets Mailbox, etc.
9. Incident Management - Incident Acknowledgement, Triaging & Logging, Error Resolution, Tracking & Closure
10. Escalation Management - Notify & Escalate according to the matrix (Management / L2 team, whoever is appropriate)
11. Change Management - Coordinate for any change management, request for necessary approvals, record update & closure with follow-up
12. Should be very good in proactive/reactive communication & provide reports across the activities (Availability / Incident Ticket / SLA Breach / etc.)
