Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented Splunk Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing Splunk solutions for data collection, analysis, and visualization. In this role, you will leverage Splunks powerful capabilities to extract actionable insights from large datasets, troubleshoot issues, and support business intelligence initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Splunk dashboards, reports, and alerts to monitor and analyze system performance, security events, and other business metrics.
• Develop and optimize search queries, field extractions, and Splunk apps for various use cases (e.g., security monitoring, infrastructure performance, etc.).
• Configure, deploy, and manage Splunk Universal Forwarders and Heavy Forwarders for data ingestion.
• Implement and support Splunk integration with various data sources such as cloud platforms, databases, security tools, and other log-generating systems.
• Perform data indexing, field extraction, and transformation to ensure high-quality data for analysis and reporting.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Splunk performance issues, optimizing searches, and ensuring system availability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with IT operations, security, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver Splunk-based solutions.
• Develop and maintain Splunk queries, alerts, and automated workflows to streamline operations and alerting.
• Ensure compliance with best practices for data security, governance, and auditing within Splunk environments.
• Provide Splunk training and support to end-users and technical teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Splunk Developer, Splunk Administrator, or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Splunk SPL (Search Processing Language), including advanced search techniques, reports, and dashboards.
• Hands-on experience with Splunk data ingestion (Universal Forwarders, Heavy Forwarders, syslog, etc.).
• Solid understanding of data indexing, search optimization, and troubleshooting within Splunk environments.
• Experience with Splunk Apps and Add-ons for integration with third-party tools.
• Strong programming skills in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and system integrations.
• Familiarity with Splunk's REST API and integration techniques.
• Knowledge of log management and data sources such as syslog, JSON, XML, and CSV.
• Ability to create custom Splunk apps, dashboards, and visualizations to meet business needs.
• Familiarity with IT monitoring tools and frameworks such as Nagios, Prometheus, or Zabbix.
• Knowledge of basic networking concepts, Linux/Unix systems, and log aggregation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Splunk Certified Power User or Splunk Certified Admin certification is a plus.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and integrating Splunk with cloud-native services.
• Experience with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) use cases and security-related monitoring.
• Familiarity with other log management tools (e.g., Elastic Stack, Datadog, etc.).
• Experience with automation/configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
