Job Title: Vice President of Accounts
Location: Mumbai
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) /Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Job Overview:
- We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Accounts to oversee the financial operations, accounting team, and strategy of the organization.
- The VP of Accounts will play a critical role in shaping the company's financial strategy, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial records, and providing high-level insights to senior leadership.
- This individual will lead the accounting function, establish effective processes, and maintain compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead the accounts department, providing strategic guidance and support to senior management.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and best practices that align with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with senior executives to evaluate financial performance, advise on key business decisions, and ensure optimal resource allocation.
Maintaining Financial and Taxation Data:
- Assist and oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Direct the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Provide strategic financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, and potential risks.
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency, and accountability.
- Ensure the team maintains up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., tax laws, GAAP, Ind As).
- Coordinate and oversee audits, both internal and external.
- Assess and manage financial risks, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place to safeguard the organization's financial integrity.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Present financial performance to the Board of Directors and other key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
- Provide insights and recommendations on financial performance to drive business growth and cost optimization.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required). MBA or Master's in Finance preferred, CA Qualified.
Experience:
- 10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role.
- Proven track record in financial management, strategy, and team leadership.
- Experience in a publicly traded company or large private organization preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
- Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems, MS Excel, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving business environment.
