About the Role
We are seeking a Program Manager to join our dynamic team in overseeing and driving the successful delivery of background verification programs for our clients. This role requires a highly organized, strategic thinker with excellent project management skills, as well as the ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex initiatives. The Program Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end execution of background verification projects, ensuring timely delivery, meeting client requirements, and continuously optimizing processes to improve service quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead and oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of client-specific background verification programs.
- Develop and implement strategies for the efficient execution of verification projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations.
- Identify key project risks and work to mitigate them, ensuring programs are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Cross-Functional Team Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, HR, compliance, IT, etc.) to ensure smooth program execution.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality verification services.
- Facilitate regular project status meetings, track progress, and ensure action items are completed.
Process Improvement & Optimization:
- Continuously evaluate current workflows and identify areas for improvement in program delivery.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Standardize best practices across different client programs and regions.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure that all background checks and verifications comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and company policies.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and legal requirements to ensure compliance.
- Develop risk mitigation plans and manage challenges related to data security, client confidentiality, and compliance.
Reporting & Metrics:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for program success, including client satisfaction, turnaround time, accuracy, and cost.
- Provide regular reporting to senior management, offering insights into program performance and areas for improvement.
- Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
Must have work Experience
- 5+ years of experience in program management, project management, or operations, preferably in a background verification, HR, or compliance-related industry.
- Proven track record of managing large, complex projects and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to manage relationships and negotiate effectively.
Qualification & Functional Skills Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong project management skills, with experience managing timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse teams and clients.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of background verification processes, compliance regulations , and industry best practices.
- Proficient in project management tools.
- Experience with automation tools and technologies used in background verification processes.
- Knowledge of data privacy laws and how they impact background verification practices.
- Experience in the background check industry or HR tech is a strong plus.
