Job Summary:
As a Cloud Engineer (AWS), you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the cloud infrastructure that powers Aster Digital Health’s digital healthcare solutions. You will be responsible for deploying, managing, and securing AWS-based infrastructure and ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of our applications. You will work closely with software development, DevOps, and security teams to ensure that our cloud environment is optimized for performance, cost, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage highly available and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure for healthcare applications.
• Automate the deployment, monitoring, and management of cloud resources using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient CI/CD pipelines, enabling faster software releases with high quality and security.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance, availability, and cost of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and API Gateway.
• Implement and enforce best practices for cloud security, including IAM roles, security groups, encryption, and compliance with HIPAA or other healthcare regulations.
• Conduct capacity planning, disaster recovery, and system backup activities to ensure business continuity.
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement cloud management tools to improve the operational efficiency of the cloud environment.
• Stay up to date with the latest AWS services, features, and industry trends to continuously enhance the cloud infrastructure.
• Provide guidance and support to development teams on AWS best practices and cloud-native application architectures.
• Assist in cost optimization strategies to reduce cloud spending while maintaining operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience working as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role, specifically with AWS cloud services.
• Strong experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, VPC, and IAM.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Proficiency in Linux or Windows systems administration.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices (IAM, encryption, security groups) and compliance with industry standards like HIPAA.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude in troubleshooting cloud infrastructure issues.
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
