Job Description
- Understand the relevant business problems and design creative, engaging and easy to consume visual insights
- Author and review of BI design specifications; develop, review and unit test reports, dashboards and other visualizations as part of solutions
- Execute, or provide expert advice related to data modelling and data preparation
- Work on and manage mid-size projects, and ensure smooth service delivery on assigned products, engagements and/or geographies
- Work with project managers to study resource needs and gaps, and devise alternative ways forward
- Provide expert reviews for all projects within the assigned subject
- Translate high-level business problems into a concrete technical requirements and work plans.
- Maintain and develop positive, productive, and professional relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Supervise, develop and mentor junior team members
- Demonstrate teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members
- Promote the use of current technologies and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services provided
- Maintain and develop positive, productive, and professional relationships with EY offices globally to develop Global Delivery Services opportunities
- Steer and develop participation in proposals and business development opportunities and participate in responding to proposals and new business opportunities.
Skills and attributes for success
- Minimum of 6 years of BI experience
- 6+ years of professional experience with dashboards and data visualization using Power BI. Deep understanding of writing SQL, DAX functions and working on M .
- Minimum of 3 years of database design, modelling and integration experience with relational data sources, such as SQL Server databases
- Strong data analysis and modelling using Alteryx.
- Hands on experience of automation and scripting using Python and VBA.
- Exposure of Financial accounting and understanding of financial statements is required.
- Hands on experience of various Azure services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Explorer, Azure SQL & Databricks
- Knowledge of PowerApps and Power Automate licensing and experience developing solutions that span multiple Office 365 services
- Solid working knowledge of report and dashboard design and development tools and techniques.
- Curiosity to learn the business methodology, data model and user personas.
- Strong understanding of BI best practices, analysis, visualization, and latest BI trends.
- Experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and understanding of product development activities such as installation, upgrade and namespace management.
- Experience following DevOps best practices, such as unit testing, branching, builds, deployment, regression testing, etc.
- Ability to successfully interact with senior stakeholders
- Experience of steering diverse teams, complex engagements, mentoring and coaching junior staff to maximize performance.
- Sound understanding of disruptive technologies and innovation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
- Organized and structured in the completion of tasks
- Experience of working in advisory/consulting/industry environment
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor s or equivalent degree in computer science, or related field, required. Advanced degree
- or equivalent business experience preferred
- Fact inspired thoughtfulness with excellent attention to details
- Hands-on experience with data engineering tasks such as building analytical data records and experience manipulating and investigating large volumes of data
- Relevant work experience of minimum 7 years in a big 4 or technology/ consulting set up
Ideally, you ll also have
- Ability to think strategically/end-to-end with result-oriented mindset
- Ability to build rapport within the firm and win the trust of the clients
- Willingness to travel extensively and to work on client sites / practice office locations
- Project management skills
- Exposure to tools like Tableau, Azure stack
