Sr. Quantity Surveyor

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and detailed MEP cost estimates by analyzing project specifications, drawings, quantity and scope of work.
• Prepare and maintain a comprehensive database of labor rates, material costs, and equipment pricing to enhance estimation accuracy.
• Review and analyze vendor quotes and sub-contractor bids to ensure competitiveness and alignment with project requirements.
• Utilize specialized estimation software and tools to streamline the estimating process and enhance productivity.
• Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to continuously improve estimation practices and methodologies.
• Evaluate and negotiate procurement contracts for MEP materials, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations in all MEP cost estimations and project executions.
• Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions related to MEP works, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
• Perform risk assessments related to cost and schedule impacts, developing strategies to mitigate identified risks.
• Mentor and develop junior quantity surveyors and support staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all MEP-related financial inquiries and disputes, resolving issues efficiently and effectively

Desired Candidate Profile

•BE-Mechanical/Electrical, Engineering, or a related field is essential for foundational knowledge.

•Minimum of 8+ years of relevant work experience in MEP quantity surveying, preferably in large-scale construction projects, experience in both commercial, Infra and residential projects is crucial to adapt to varying client needs and requirements.

•Candidates having GCC region experience are preferred for familiarity with local market conditions.

•Fluency in English is a must; knowledge of Arabic or other regional languages is a distinct advantage.

•Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools

•Excellent negotiation skills to effectively communicate and resolve issues with contractors and suppliers.
