Job Description

Educational Qualification:
  • Graduate degree in Engineering, Commerce or Management. MBA Preferred.
  • Certificate or proven exposure to Category Management. IIMM or CSM/ CPA preferred.
  • Experience in working in SAP MM, Category Management Tools and Workflow driven Shared Services Environment.
  • Exposure to AI/Automation.
  • Advanced user of Excel functions.
Experiences:
  • 7-10 years of total experience
    • More than 3 years of experience in managing team preferably in a GCC or Shared Services context.
    • 3-5 years of experience in working in Projects, Assets, Infrastructure Manufacturing, Services organization in a Category Management role.
    • Experienced in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Governance roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
    • 1-2 years experience in SAP Ariba and SAP MM
  • Certification in CPP/CPSM.
  • Exposure to working in Indian conglomerates and working practices in promoter led organizations.
  • Experience of tracking and monitoring category specific market intelligence / trends.
  • Experience of preparing and monitoring Transactional data MIS and reporting of SLA/ KPI.
  • Experience of continuous improvement through adoption of appropriate methodologies.
  • PowerPoint presentation creation and delivery capabilities.
Exposure to work in SharePoint / Tool based environment and project management.
Operations Management
  • Ensure alignment of category strategies with overall business objectives and communicate these strategies back to the business for approval.
  • Monitor and manage the requirement of non-critical categories in sourcing.
  • Ensure category management activities comply with internal policies and external regulations, conducting regular compliance audits and reporting findings to the business.
  • Overseeing the demand planning process to ensure accurate forecasting and optimal procurement planning.
  • Ensuring the smooth execution of category strategies and updates to maintain operational efficiency.
Transition and Operations Stabilization
  • Leading the integration of new category strategies into the existing management system.
  • Stabilizing operations during transitions by addressing any challenges and ensuring seamless implementation.
  • Continuously monitoring and adjusting processes to maintain stability and effectiveness.
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate across Information Security, Legal, Tech Services, Procurement, and the business to enforce standard risk management policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to align demand planning and category strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Gathering and analysing customer feedback to refine category strategies and enhance satisfaction.
Operational Delivery and Service Excellence
  • Ensuring high standards of service delivery in all aspects of demand planning and category management.
  • Continuously updating category strategies based on market trends, business strategies, and performance data.
  • Leading cross-functional teams to execute category plans effectively and achieve business goals.
People and Performance Management
  • Identifying training needs and organizing relevant training programs to upskill the team.
  • Encouraging continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
  • Leading and motivating the category management team to achieve set goals and objectives.
  • Providing guidance and support to team members to enhance their performance and professional development.
Operations Process Improvement and Knowledge Management
  • Analysing current category management processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implementing best practices and process enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Leveraging technology and data analytics tools to enhance demand planning, category profiling and strategy creation.
  • Regularly reviewing and updating category strategies based on performance data and market trends.
  • Implementing feedback loops to ensure continuous improvement in category management processes.
