Interview Preparation Tips

Round: HR Interview
Experience: This was a basic HR round that lasted for about 10-15 minutes. There were generic questions such as why do I think that I am fit for this role and so on. As someone who has regularly been doing MUNs I knew a lot about UNDP and was very well aware of all United Nations organisations. The interviewer said that mine was amongst the finest interviews he had taken so far and the only reason why they would select me was that my candidature was ineligible. The internship was open only for second and third year students.
Tips: Ask questions and sensible ones so that the interviewer knows you are both aware and interested. You can always ask them for feedback in case they declare their decision then and there. Maintain eye contact and try to figure what exactly the interviewer is looking for. Do not lose hope if not selected. In life , we never lose. We either win or we learn. Take away something meaningful from each interview process.

Skills: Communication skills, knowledge of the subject, ability to handle rejection
College Name: Indian School Of Business and Finance

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - Whosoever is willing or want to pursue job in UNDP esp in Uttarakhand for them its my humble, Don't join this organisation. It is one of the most unprofessional organization. You will face many problems esp salary not getting on time, TA and DA neglected, we had to wait atleast 6 months for our salary. The staff of UNDP is not supporting and they don't even bother about your problems. The contractual job of UNDP is totally unpredictable, they can dissolve their contract as per their choice. Totally waste of time and energy in working with UNDP. Its better to join small organization where your work is respected and appreciated. So whosoever thinking to join UNDP please take your decision wisely.

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - Ensure your CV and cover letter are clean and professional. It's best if your responses during the interview are to the point. All UN agencies are extremely systematic in their hiring process. The panel interviews are time-bound and so it would work well for you if you know what to answer. As a candidate, you will also be encouraged to ask the panel a few questions/doubts.

There's a lot of learning with UN and I wish everyone seeking career with UN the very best!
