Semac Consultants Interview Questions, Process, and Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Subjective questions. Mostly from theory of structures. Need to have a good hold on BMD and SF diagrams.
Tips: 2hrs subjective exam requires patience. just attempting answer is also considered worthy.
Duration: 120 minutes

General Tips: Please be strong in BMD and SF diagrams of ssb, cantilever ,overhang and other combinations. All the best !

Round: Test
Experience: Complete descriptive. Its enough if you are thorough with the codes 800 and 456 also with the bending moment deflection profiles.
Duration: 120 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Interview was very normal. Basic questions.

General Tips: Basically, the company is designed based. If you are interested, you can apply for the job !

Round: Test
Experience: Question paper is like a Theory of Structures end exam(2 hrs) and Concrete Technology but easy questions like as follows: 
i) Simple beams and frames asking us to draw BMD, SFD, Deflection and Elastic curves about 10 questions with increasing difficulty. 
ii) Columns and beams design basics (and IS code specifications for cover and more...) 
iii) Slab design basics 
iv) Concrete technology basics. 

So, questions paper is entirely related to structures and their design and specifications. I answered half of the questions only because i didn't want to opt this company(low pay). But my bad, so.... 1/3 ppl got shortlisted. M.tech students and B.tech students have same question paper( we gave the answer sheet in 30 min whereas m.tech students took 2 hours to answer).
Tips: Question paper is a lot difficult but shortlisting cutoff is low so don't worry just answer.
Duration: 120 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: All questions were asked from mistakes done by us and questions left by us in question paper, so discuss about question paper. I left some questions i knew because i didn't want this company, but i solved those in front of them in interview which gave me a lot of credit. 
So, interview panel was satisfied and i got the company which i didn't want..(I was in dilemma about this company whether to take it or not)
Tips: Later, I decided to take this job because its a DESIGN PROFILE IN STRUCTURES (Office Job and Awesome) but pay is less and i believe it'll be good based on experience. 
ALL SHORTLISTED PEOPLE WERE SELECTED FOR JOB (NEVER EXPECTED).

General Tips: Be cool. Prepare well about DCS, TS and Concrete Technology. Get a good grip on project and Industrial training, it'll make a lot of difference.

Round: Test
Experience: Questions were mainly from theory of structures, steel and concrete structures and concrete technology. They concentrated on SFD, BMD and elastic curves different beams and frames.

Written test was a bit lengthy and subjective and a bit tough too.
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Some questions from the written test and the possible extensions. 
Questions from subject of our interest.

 Interview was very cool.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Few details of native place and family background.

General Tips: Be thorough with the subjects like theory of structures , dss & dcs, concrete technology. Be confident while answering in the interview. Don't get tensed, be cool throughout the process of selection.

Experience: The aptitude test was mostly Subjective. In the test test they asked to draw S.F.D, B.M.D, Elastic Curves and deflection curves for around 16 structures.They asked lots of one- two mark questions from codes also. Questions were there from D.S.S and Concrete structures also.
Duration: 90 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: In Personal interview, they mostly asked Questions from the aptitude test and then asked us to solve them again. They were always stressing on Design of steel structure as that's there specialization.

General Tips: Study thoroughly S.F.d, B.M.D., Elastic curves, Deflection Curves, Design of steel Structures And Concrete structures.

Be confident in the interview !
