Interview Questionnaire

3 Questions

  • Q1. Estimate the total cost that a company would incur for the launch of a XYZ device (from the clinical stage to its commercialization)
  • Q2. Questions related to my resume, interest and future goals
  • Q3. The revenues earned by sales of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's Album in one month worldwide

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The questions were fairly simple and the time allotted for the test seemed appropriate.
Tips: Few days of practice can increase your understanding and speed of solving the problems. Online test practice on sites such as Indiabix.com helps a lot as they have a good variety of questions. For developing the concepts at initial stage books such as R.S. Aggarwal are good and for further practice Arun Sharma serves the purpose.
Duration: minutes minute
Total Questions: 45

Round: Guesstimate Interview
Experience: The interviewer was quite impressed by my way of presenting the numbers and estimates and also with the parameters I considered for solving the puzzle. I divided the population of India into different age-groups and regions (urban, rural) and then analyzed the approximate figure. As he is a Pakistani Singer so I considered the population of Pakistan and Arab countries as well. All this I presented in the form of a table.
Tips: Try to cover as much parameters as you can while solving these type of questions. This will develop by practicing and have a good idea about the population of your country, your state and city.Sites such as analyticsvidhya.com help to develop better understanding.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: I had a hard time solving this puzzle and was more of a brain-storming session. I spent 10-15 minutes just to find an approach that would atleast help me to begin the conversation with my interviewer. After sometime I took small-steps and tried to do it in the best possible way.
Tips: Use graphs and table for solving such questions as the way you present the information should be very comprehensive as well as simple.Even if you are not satisfied or convinced with your approach, present it in front of the interviewer with confidence.PS: If you cannot convince the other person, then confuse him.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: This is the most interesting round as you have to put forward your views about the industry you are entering into and what quality makes you a potential candidate for the job.
Tips: Have a good knowledge about each and every point you have mentioned in your resume and be clear about your future goals and interests.Always ask few questions when the interviewer asks you to do so at the end of the interview.

General Tips: Learn from every interview and every rejection that you encounter.Never get disheartened if you are rejected in the first few companies.Prepare yourself for all the rounds in the best possible way because there are no short-cuts to success.
Skills: Technical knowledge, Analytical skills, Communication skills
College Name: NIT JALANDHAR
Motivation: It was a perfect combination because the work is a blend of technical work related to my field (Biotechnology) and Business world.

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - The Interviewer was a high ranking IT head at ICICI Securities Mumbai . The interview lasted 20 minutes of which 10 minutes were wasted in looking for resume which interviewer could not find . He was agitated, uninterested from start . He judged a candidate by asking two questions in 7-8 mins without looking through resume or profile. I had given quite a large number of interviews at MNC's, big companies even small firms in a short span of time before interviewing at ICICI , nevertheless this was one of the worst interview experience i had .Its not about not getting shortlisted i could not crack some previous interviews too, the issue is about rude, egotistical interviewer not taking time to judge candidate thoroughly ; atleast give respect to his time and hopes .By gods grace he is at a good position in his career but the way he acted was very unprofessional and unworthy for such a big organization .

I place no blame on HR team in this process they were quite cordial and helpful.

I applied via Naukri.com and was interviewed in Jul 2022. There were 2 interview rounds.
