Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: There was a resume based selection for the first round.

Round: Test
Experience: The last section of 1st common written test consisted of an essay: 4 minutes were given to write 180 words on a certain topic (aim was to check your typing skills)

2nd Written test: It consisted of questions on quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning and verbal ability, and also a few puzzles. There were also some questions from my core field of study (Accounts).

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: There was a GD round after this which was more like a personal interview plus group discussion.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: In the interview round they were more concerned about the fact that whether I will stick with the company or not. They wanted to make sure I was a good fit in the company. They asked me about my career plans and the path I was planning to follow to achieve those. I was also asked about my reasons for joining RBS and what all I knew about the bank.

They also asked me questions from accounts. These were pretty simple and anybody with even the basic knowledge of accounts could have answered those. A few questions were related to accruals, accrual accounting, balance sheet items and bank reconciliation statement.
