Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: I believe that they were looking bio-products design. I had not worked in that field myself but had some courses and experiences in startups which revolved around the same. I made sure my resume emphasized these points.
Tips: Simply put, make sure you are what they are looking for for their profile. Don't write something false but make sure you know how to modify the truth to fit their interest

Round: HR Interview
Experience: I have sweat as much in my entire life as I did in that air-conditioned interview room. The interview was through Skype. I made sure that I never gave up on the point that I had made the base for my pitch - 'Openness and ability to form new innovative idea'. I made sure that in every question, I was able to bring out this point and also show him my other qualities complemented the same. At the end I think that it was my confidence that did the trick.
Tips: Make sure your body language and voice shows your confidence in what you are saying and make sure you pitch your strengths as often as possible revolving around what they might be requiring you to do at the internship.

Skill Tips: Just try and make sure you send out the signals which make them realize you have the ability to work across domains using the specialized knowledge you have in your area of expertise. You need to show them that you can use your knowledge base creatively to solve some issue they might be working on at that time.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: Thanks for letting my resume through even when I submitted it half an hour after the deadline :)

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: Smoothly conducted; no complaints about the organization of the event. (Though Samsung could have done better than keep that "structured GD" which wasn't even a GD :D)

General Tips: Don't sweat it if your resume isn't very illustrious. Some basic projects and maybe experience at some startup would be enough for the resume shortlist (that was all I had, pretty much). The aptitude test has many questions but just try to attempt as many as you can in a relaxed manner. The coding test is peace - review basic algorithms (very basic, not even to graphs/linked lists level). And for the GD just stay calm and even if you can't form a well-rounded speech quickly, just mention your salient features. They will get back to you as they do another round through the people in the room. So just stay calm and think during the GD. You don't need to be a Hitler-level speaker to clear this (believe me, I'm far from it :) ). They take many people so don't worry too much about competition either. All the best :)
Skills: Communication, Aptitude, Basic C/C++
Duration: 2
College Name: IIT Madras
Motivation: I was looking for a CS-based profile but in my heart I preferred one that didn't involve IT (I did apply for those too, for backup). So RnD profiles like Samsung and Adobe fit the bill nicely; I didn't get selected for Adobe though, and people do say that their RnD is better. No way to know, right? :D
Funny Moments: Technically I shouldn't say things about the applicants who took the GD with me (some of them did get through in fact), but I simply have to mention the types of problems and resolutions that were talked about in the "structured GD" - using satellite images to identify and combat poverty, seriously?
And the moderator totally dissed the last guy who talked (out of his turn actually, when everyone was about to leave) - she didn't care about his speech and cut him short saying "let's give you seed money, maybe you'll build a business" !
