Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: Candidates were shortlisted based on the academic credentials possessing Post Graduation in Social Sciences, preferably in Social Work or Sociology and five years of work experience.

Round: Test
Experience: Three hours of objective test which includes: Reasoning and Aptitude, General Knowledge, Awareness about the social schemes in the county, Indian Constitution and Numerical ability.

General Tips: I was interviewed by an experienced panel of three members. After a formal round of introduction, they started off by asking about the distinction between Sociology and Social work. As I was engaged with the Social Justice Department at the time of the interview, my next round of questions related to empowerment of women and how creatively can we address the problem. They also asked in particular my experiences in the Social Justice Department with regard to alleviation of poverty. The final round of questions related with my overall attitude as a Social Worker and theoretical questions were also asked about the implementing agency to whom I may work if selected.

My word of advice to the people who are pursuing a role in Social Work should exhibit a positive attitude in understanding the problems faced by ordinary people. In plain words, we should feel disturbed by the worries of the public. The next step is to address the issue. Imagine the role played by Social Workers in refugee camps as there will be a lot of people thronging them. On this occasion, our problem solving and analytical skills are essential to deliver the goods required for the betterment of the group. In the actual field, strong people centric approach is required to understand the public and same is the case in interview as well. Be an active listener with empathy while facing questions. I remember the interview panel even testing me on difficult questions as they need further explanation and description. Don't worry, they are checking on your attitude and never let your cool down in such situations.

All the best folks!

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - I had 2 rounds of interviews for the position at Wells Fargo. The first round was a teams interview where I was asked questions on Tableau, SQL, and logical reasoning, which I answered successfully and cleared. The second round was an in-person interview on Monday, which required me to take time off from work. This was a managerial interview with no technical questions, except for one about the difference between rank and dense rank.

After the second round, I did not receive any feedback for several days, so I contacted HR to inquire about the status. They assured me they would provide an update, but I did not hear back. I reached out again and was told that I was not selected because I was "not technically strong." This reason seemed misleading, as the second round was not even technical in nature.

My impression is that my current salary expectations may have exceeded their budget for the role. Rather than acknowledging this, it seems they opted to cite a technical deficiency as the reason for my rejection, which I believe was not accurate.

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - The interview panel consists of two members: the team leader and the manager. They specifically asked me detailed questions regarding finance, which included my percentage in my MBA, inquiries related to my projects, and how I learned about the company. While responding to the questions, it is essential to remain confident, and if a question is unfamiliar, we can articulate our response in our own words. We should answer them slowly instead of hurrying. Overall I have a great experience while answering the questions and panel members were polite persons.
