Disappointing Interview Experience with D.E. Shaw
I recently interviewed with D.E. Shaw, and it turned out to be one of the most draining experiences I’ve had. The interviewer’s approach felt unnecessarily harsh and dismissive, which made the entire process uncomfortable. At multiple points, the interviewer asked me to drop off the call, even when I tried asking basic questions about the designation, job description, and other details. After the interview, I found myself sitting there for a few minutes, trying to process what just happened. It left me questioning the overall tone and professionalism of the interview. Definitely not the experience I was expecting from such a well-known firm.

A Team Lead
Wow, that's really disappointing to hear. Interviews should be a two-way street, not a power play. Did you consider providing feedback to their HR team? It might help future candidates. 🤔

That sounds super unprofessional! 😡 Everyone deserves respect, especially in such high-stakes scenarios

Yikes, that doesn’t sound like the D.E. Shaw I’d heard about. 😐

I interviewed for MTS Frontend at DE Shaw the previous month. The interviewer was very rude. He wanted me to solve everything in my mind and explain it to him. He told me not to touch the keyboard like he was always scolding me. I was doing a dry run he was like don't touch the keyboard don't type anything. He dragged my morale down I started feeling how incompetent I was. He was filled with arrogance I don't know how a year-experience guy can take 5 years experience interview.
