How are poor workers surviving in Mumbai?
I was struck by my maid, dhobi etc.. They are barely surviving, living hands to mouth in Mumbai in terrible housing with no future hope. For 50₹, they work like crazy for an hour. Labour is so cheap in India, we don't even distribute the wealth or incomes downwards. Think how much your dhobi charged you 10 years back vs now. It's changed little. There's no real middle class in India. Only the indebted class. The poor and the rich class.
