(5 Questions)

  • Q1. What is Reactor selectivity?
  • Ans.

Reactor selectivity is the ability of a reactor to produce a desired product while minimizing the formation of undesired byproducts.

    • Reactor selectivity is a key factor in determining the efficiency of a chemical process.

    • It is influenced by factors such as reaction conditions, catalysts, and reactant concentrations.

    • For example, in a catalytic hydrogenation reaction, high selectivity would mean that the desired product i

  • Answered by AI
  • Q2. How to control selectivity?
  • Ans.

Selectivity can be controlled by optimizing reaction conditions, catalyst selection, and process design.

    • Optimize reaction conditions such as temperature, pressure, and reactant concentrations

    • Select appropriate catalysts to favor desired reactions over side reactions

    • Design the process to maximize the desired product yield and minimize byproducts

    • Use techniques like separation processes to isolate the desired product

  • Answered by AI
  • Q3. Difference between selectivity & conversion?
  • Ans.

Selectivity is the ratio of desired product to undesired products, while conversion is the percentage of reactant converted to products.

    • Selectivity measures the efficiency of a reaction in producing the desired product.

    • Conversion measures the extent to which reactants are converted to products.

    • High selectivity indicates a high proportion of desired product, while high conversion indicates efficient use of reactants.

  • Q4. About your past work experience.
  • Q5. Functioning of distillation column
  • Ans.

Distillation column separates components of a liquid mixture based on differences in boiling points.

    • Distillation column uses heat to vaporize liquid mixture

    • Vapors rise through column and condense at different heights based on boiling points

    • Separated components are collected at different levels of the column

    • Bottom of column collects high boiling point components, top collects low boiling point components

Round 1 - Aptitude Test

"I applied via campus placement First round was an aptitude containing quant, english, logical reasoning and data interpretation (60 mins ,60 questions) plus technical round (30 mins,30 questions) conducted via Aon platform. Aptitude was easy but was a bit lengthy. Technical test was also moderate and covered all topics from mechanical core. After the written test there was a resume shortlisting for people who cleared round one.Prepare ur resume according to the role ur applying. From around 87 members 27 were shortlisted for GD round. ."

Round 2 - Group Discussion

They divided us into 4 groups and group discussion went on for around 20 mins my topic was (Are ev vehicle's an efficient solution for pollution). In gd round listen to the topic carefully. Don't hesitate to put ur thoughts first donot interfere while other is speaking listen to them and put ur thoughts in a politeful way , mostly stick to the topic. After 20 mins the recruiters asked me to summarise the topic and i gave a brief summary keeping everyone's and my thoughts in mind. Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - Interview was mostly based on resume.Be clear with every small topic mentioned in the resume. After discussing few projects from my resume they asked me few behavioural questions, try answering the behavioural questions in star based approach. There were 4 recruiters in my panel one person was from Singapore office,2 from Bangalore and 1 from Mumbai.Everyone asked me few questions and they really looked into every small detail right from ur dressing style to the way you handled the situation.Do a good research about the company before going to interview it helped me a lot to crack the interview as we discussed what was recent collaborations of ExxonMobil in national wise and international wise visit the company website and have a better understanding about what excatly the company is doing.work on your communication skills as it is one of the most important factor they look in their candidate.Coming to core they haven't really asked me anything from core subjects as it was a management role but be prepared with any two of ur favourite subjects, heat transfer and fluids will be a good option. Results were announced right after all the interviews by evening and they selected 3 candidates.Overall it was a great experience for me all the recruiters were really friendly.I wish you all the best for ur placements
