Round 4 - Aptitude Test

Third was a technical round based on psychological assessment called A&B test(Above&Beyond) there were brain games like different kinds of numeric/block puzzles to solve, then again some behavioural questions like aptitude- for example: “your best friend at work got a promotion but you did not, how would you react to this”? - 1. I would be jealous 2. I am happy for her, she deserves it more than me 3. I don’t know how to react 4. I will keep a distance from her and focus on my work for next appraisal
(Such questions are very tricky, you can’t pick a negative trait, and even the positive point seems unreal.. and these answers should be remembered because after a while another similar situation will be given where you have to select same emotion you had chosen earlier.. both can be same situation but in little different ways.

Round 5 - HR

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - I would suggest if you’re applying at Hatch, be prepared for a lot of delays in the feedback from the recruiters or managers. And if you’re reaching out to the recruiter for feedback, they generally don’t respond. So its better to note down the email addresses of the hiring panel from each round and send an email directly to them- hiring managers do respond as this reflects company’s good culture & senior employees respect company culture the most! Also the interview processes takes more than a month to complete, my all interviews were completed about 1 month 20 days, by that time I thought I got rejected as there was no response from anyone but suddenly one fine day I received an email from the hiring manager that she & the HR manager would like to have a discussion with me. Then it was confirmed that I was selected!

I applied via Job Portal and was interviewed in Oct 2021. There were 3 interview rounds.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: I had a standard resume for this company as per our institute placement cell norms, however I did change the “Area of interest” section of the resume as per the job profile being offered by the company.
Students were shortlisted based on the resume and were called directly for the interview round.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Hatch Associates directly had an interview round after short listing the students based on their resume. 12 students were shortlisted for this round (6 from Civil Engineering and 6 from Chemical Engineering). All the students had 2 interviews – one technical interview and one HR interview.

In the technical interview, I was asked about my two final year projects. The interviewer also asked me about my internship – what was my role and what did I get to learn.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: In the HR interview, they asked me some general HR questions. Finally 2 students got selected for this company – one from Civil Engineering and one from Chemical Engineering.

College Name: IIT ROORKEE
Motivation: I attended the company’s pre-placement talk and also went through the company’s website.
