Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - So, on 27th August, I received a job invite on Naukri from a recruiter of Infinx for the position of Project Manager and I had applied for it. After the call with the recruiter, I sat for my first round of interview with a guy named Ritesh Shah on 29th August. Usually for all the interviews I have appeared for, the calls usually starts with a greeting or at least a smile sharing. Since the beginning of the call, the guy seemed irritated for some reason and without asking anything at all, he went on about the job role and what they are seeking, which I was cool with. Since the first ever question, "walk me through your profile" he seemed visibly irritated and dissatisfied with my work experiences and skills and kept dismissing everything I said as 'vague'. Currently I'm on sabbatical for personal reasons after working for 7 years straight with Amazon. He asked me why I quit Amazon and chose sabbatical. While I answering the question, he seemed to have expected a different answer than what my actual reason was and kept interrupting every now and then. He kept provoking me and demeaning meas a mean to get insights on Amazon's confidential information which for obvious reasons cannot be shared. This guy definitely didn't seem interested to take the interview and probably had no clue what the answers I had for his questions and instead kept a very demeaning, derogatory and toxic attitude with various facial expressions and body languages including rolling eyes and stuff. Overall, his behaviour was extremely unprofessional. I worked for a company for 7 years and he automatically assumed that if I stayed with Amazon for 7 years, I wouldn't be able to fit in to their work culture and Amazon's work culture to be the best and all other company's work culture to be 'bad'. There was nothing I recall saying such, which could result in such kind of conclusion. Overall, this Ritesh Shah appeared to be an arrogant, ignorant, demeaning, unprofessional and toxic kinda guy who just likes to look down on people. To add fuel to the fore, he kept passing sarcastic comments like, "If you liked to work with Amazon so much since you worked with them for 7 years, why didn't you stick with them and looking for job elsewhere?", "Your answers are vague", along with that passing crude comments on me, as an individual. He asked me what my job responsibilities as a PM with Amazon was and when I tried to explain, he replied saying, "I don't care about your achievements and tasks. What did you even do there? Don't they even give you anything to work on or define your goals well enough to speak?" He probably didn't even know what answers he wanted even! A lot of things happened during the 45 mins call. He's a blabber and has a negative and toxic traits that are bane to a healthy work culture and atmosphere. If you're thinking about getting into this company, enter at your own risk. It was the second time I denied my candidature to be taken to the next stage right after the interview and I've never felt happier. Do yourselves a favour and I'd suggest against joining a company that shows this level of toxicity during the first round of interview. It ain't a test of tenacity. It's a clear and transparent display of their toxic work environment one would go through, post joining. Shameful.
