Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: It was constituted into 3 parts: English (15 minutes), Aptitude (30 minutes) and Technical (75 minutes).
Tips: Technical was mainly from structural engineering but all civil branches except BTCM was called. However, they didn't put more weight age on technical, I think, because I answered very less.
Duration: 120 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: It was a group task. We were divided into several groups. Some puzzle was given and we had to work in group and solve the puzzle in a given time. The puzzle consisted of interaction with other groups also. Some groups got two problems and others got only one.

Round: Interview
Experience: Technical round was conducted by a lady, head of geotechnical division. She asked mainly application level questions. Piles, Foundations and Ground Improvement. She also asked about the project we were doing.
Tips: Concentrate more on Pile design static and dynamic (just the concept), foundation shallow, different ground improvement methods (just the names), project details (just what our objective is and what is the progress till now).

Round: Interview
Experience: HR round was rather a formality. Some simple questions about ourselves were asked, some introduction to the company profile, about our understanding of the company etc. It was rather a friendly conversation.

General Tips: I didn't prepare much for the placement. Questions were actually based on basic geo-tech stuff. If you have some idea, you can tackle the Interview. Just have a look 2-3 days before and its enough.

2.In the other activity we were given A4 sheets and we were asked to make a circle with that in a way we could all   stand in that.3.The activities given were same as last year.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Questions asked were from basic civil engineering. They were not just structural but from other streams as well. Mostly structural were expected so that was a bit disappointing. English was bit difficult, long passages for comprehension were given. Aptitude was easy enough. The filling of form between the test with general information about one self was a bit annoying.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: No problems were asked to solve neither any BMD'S were asked to be drawn. Resume was looked at and asked what was taught in some courses, some details of the project being worked on as well. It was a friendly talk than an interview. Then a few simple questions were asked.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Firstly was asked to introduce himself. Details about family and siblings and what they are doing were also asked. Some other general questions like, hobbies, how much are you interested, what are your future plans etc were also asked. Interview didn't seem like it was critical, it was easy.

Round: Test
Experience: It was divided into 3 parts: 20 minutes English, 20 minutes Aptitude and 20 minutes Tech.
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: It was a group task with 6-7 people.

Round: Interview
Experience: They are testing our knowledge in the subject in this round. They asked my M.Tech project and Internship works in detail. Other basic theory questions were also asked.
Tips: They were looking for departmental project, basic idea in GIS, Hydraulic Engineering (especially in designing water supply system) and Internship work while shortlisting. CG was also a criterion. More than that knowledge in the specialized subject, especially practical knowledge is a must.
