Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: I received a call from a consultant about the job opportunity at Barclays Shared Services. He asked me if I was looking for a job and I replied in the affirmative. He asked me if I had any experience and I told him that I was a fresher. He asked me to tell him about myself which I did. Then he called me for an interview at the consultancy he was calling from.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: I went for the interview on the scheduled day. First I had the first round of interview where an interviewer asked me some basic questions from my resume which were about myself like my schooling, hobbies, etc.

Then I had the next round which is called the telephonic round as it happens over the phone. I was handed a mobile phone by the consultant on the other end of which was another interviewer. After the initial greetings, he gave me a topic to speak on. These topics can be anything from Delhi Metro to Your Favourite Advertisement. One has to speak for about 2-3 minutes on the given topic.

Finally I was called for the HR round. The HR asked me about my education and family background. She asked me the reason I wanted to join Barclays and why I thought I should get selected. I gave all answers the best I could and then she negotiated the salary with me which was when I got to know that I had gotten selected.

After the interview, I was made to wait for a few minutes after which I was handed over the joining letter.
Tips: Below is I list of things that I think BPO's check in candidates:

1). Communication skills.
2). Availability to work night shifts.
3). Ready for relocation if necessary.
