Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The question were mostly related with the engineering basics. The test involved questions from RCC,STEEL & PSC. Some of the questions were from the codal provisons of the indian standards others involved technical reasoning. Few questions had multiple statements and the options were a combination of true & false statements just like in GATE exam. Most of the questions didnt even needed to be solved you can just tell the answer if you know certain basic rules like the one with the truss problems wherein you can just tell by seeing the loading which member will carry the maximum load and which member will have zero load. The exam didnt even require a calculator to be used though the examiners insisted to bring one at the beginning. The overall exam was really easy and didnt need any Mtech qualification to solve the questions, if you are thorough with the basics you will do just fine.
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: The questions asked to me were mostly about the earthquake effects on tall buildings as i had mentioned that i was going to do a dissertation on tall buildings as a part of my MTech course. Then a question was on SFD and BMD of a bent cantilever. Few were from the code like the stress block from indian standards. few IS code numbers like the one for ductile detailing and the purpose of ductile detailing.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Few questions popped from my intro like my project from BTech. Finally while leaving they asked if i would take the posting on site anywhere in India not as a site engineer but as a project supervisor i will have my own office on the site many people would work under me etc.

Skill Tips: I would suggest my juniors to just be through with the basic things like SFD BMD, IS 456-2000 Codal provisions, steel connections, losses in PSC beams etc.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: They asked questions mostly on strength of materials, structural analysis and rcc, few questions from steel structures. In strength of materials they given some questions on bending moment, shear force diagrams. In structural analysis finding of forces in truss elements. In rcc they asked many questions from code book like percentage of steel, cover, diameter of bars used. The questions in written and technical interview were good. Those people were very cool. They helped me in answering the questions in the interview. Among the companies i have attended this is the only company in which they asked most of the questions on technical aspects.
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: They asked on bending moment diagrams, code books and rcc.

General Tips: Be prepare for all subjects. It is a company to start with, especially for a civil student. As it is a construction company we can learn a lot in technical aspects. Only thing is that there is a bond of two years. If it is not a problem it is a very good company to step in. Good luck.
