Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The level of Aptitude test was normal.It is upto Arun Sharma 2nd level.In this questions were asked from the topics time and work,time and distance,average,compound interst majorly.The technical questions were mostly from material science ,Strength of material , manufacturing and these were asked from technical questions of India Bix.So for Aptitude ,lofoya.com and pariksha.co is best and for technical ,india bix is sufficient for written test.
Tips: Prefer to solve aptitude questions in online mode.Give weekly test of pariksha.co . Don't do aptitude questions from India bix. It is only for technical.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Total Questions: 90

Round: Technical + HR Interview
Experience: Hii guys,I am a mechanical student in NIT Allahabad. When i entered in interview room ,interviewer asked first question to tell me about my self ? I answer about my previous studies,about my parents and share the experience when i entered in college in 1st year.Then from there i come to my Project which i have done in college in 1st ,2nd and 3rd year.then he asked some questions from my project. After that he asked me from my AOI. It was SOM and I.C.Engine .He asked questions from SOM .He asked me about Stress-strain and fatigue diagram. then about designing of crankshaft and nut bolts. After that i said to him that sir ,i have one more project. As project is your strong Point where ypu can show your skill upto 100%. So i explain my summer training project and final year project. Then he asked me you have a lot of projects in Automobile sector .How these projects will helpful for reliance ? Before this i was rejected from some interview as i was not prepare for this question.but this time i cracked it .i Explained to him that all my projects are inclined towards reliance industries by giving him proper arguments. This time he was satisfied and then he asked me if you were appointed in maintenance and u have to motivate your subordinates ,how will u motivate them? I answered it perfectly by applying the concept of industrial engineering. Then last question is ,Do u want to ask any question? I visited reliance website and i was prepare for that question so i asked about ongoing project of reliance industries. This was all about 50 minutes.
Tips: Prepare your projects very carefully and mold interview in your side. AOI should be prepared very well. Be confident.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: HR interview of Reliance was light. Its only a formality. 90% chance of selection ,when u forwarded from technical round.He said to me that your communication is not good so improve it and all you have written about your strength and weakness, you must have one supporting factor of it.
Tips: Prepare about basic thing that are asked in HR like Strength and weakness, how u are fit for this job and what you have done to improve your weak skills . It was a good experience . I liked it very much.

Round: Test
Experience: 30 questions in 30 minutes for aptitude section and 50 questions in 30 minutes for technical section.sectional cutoff was there. questions were easy; especially in technical section no calculation was required. questions were mostly from machine design, heat and mass transfer, metallurgy and few questions from other subjects like SOM, KOM, thermodynamics, industrial(basic). Aptitude section was comprised of quantitative(time and distance, mixtures, etc), verbal reasoning(antonyms, synonyms, etc), logical reasoning(pattern identification, odd one out, etc.).
Tips: Practice from indiabix as many questions were directly from there. mechanical handbook for GATE will also be useful.
Duration: 1 hour
Total Questions: 80

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: first question was tell me about yourself, this is the question where you have to give the direction to the interview. after my basic introduction(family, education) i described my projects. interviewer just want to check your interest in engineering and concepts. prepare well

Round: Algorithmic Round
Experience: You are given N ranges of the form [A,B]. Find all the ranges which occur atleast K times.

Round: Algorithmic Round
Experience: 1. Find the number of ways from reaching (1,1) to (N,M) when only right and down moves are allowed in O(N+M) complexity.
2. A row-wise and column-wise sorted matrix is given. Find an element in O(N+M) complexity.

Round: Algorithmic Round
Experience: 1. Check whether the given graph is bipartite or not.
2. Given a sorted array,find the longest sequence in AP.

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: I am M tech Design Engineering student at MNNIT Allahabad.
Johnson Controls came to our campus first time.They have Written test then technical interview and after that HR+Technical Interview.They set the cutoff of 7 CGPA for the written test.After getting shortlisted i appeared for the online exam.The exam consist of technical +aptitude+English. Questions were easy theoretical based and mainly from fluid hmt thermodynamics.English questions were also easy.
Tips: Time to complete the test will be sufficient also in there exam portal there is no back option you can either skip or select and move forward option but nothing to worry .The question which you will skip will come back at the end of the exam you can attempt them then if you want.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: In Technical interview 3 panel consisting of 1 interviewer were made.Students are sent according to there brach in respective panel.In interview my interviewer ask mainly RAC Thermodynamics basics also some discussion about the company were there.He also ask me details about my thesis work.
Tips: Interview is easy they are mainly focusing on your Communication skill and expression.Technical is not that hard.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: In HR+Technical interview the shortlisted student from the technical round are interviewed.Panel consist of 5 people and they ask about your future perspective wrt company what you think about there company your role in there company .They also try to put some difficult question but answer them confidently and politely.Technical question along with HR questions were asked.

General Tips: Visit there website learn about company and there projects in india.focus on your Communication technical is not that much hard.
Skill Tips: Speak clearly and fluently.For technical part dont take much pressure.As for mechanical engineering students mainly hmt fluid rac are asked.Please look into there website and see there Global ranking ,there achievements and there projects in india it will help you in HR round .

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: There were 4 questions of varying difficulty. Those attempted atleast 2 were selected for the next round.
Q1) Question based on Tower of hanoi problem. I solved it using dynamic programming.
Q2) Check for balanced parenthesis in an expression.
Q3)One adhoc question to calculate the maximum number of people present at a particular time in a hotel.
Q4) One other question based on string algorithms.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: The interviewer asked to write the full code for a couple of questions only
Tips: Prepare DS nicely.
Strong OOPs concepts.
They want optimized solution of all.
Be honest with your interviewer.
Don't pretend.

Round: Other Interview
Experience: Ask me write and compile the codes.
The interviewer was very friendly and helping nature.
He was giving hints where i stuck.
He was checking my thinking and prolem solving capability.
Tips: Correct explaination matters,time doesn't.Take your time.
Ask fro hint.
Be yourself.Don't pretend.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Questions were from easy to moderate level. No negative marking, so attempt all.
Tips: Keep your mind open and practice aptitude problems on a daily basis.

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: There were 21 students selected out of which two teams of 10 and 11 students were formed. Both the groups were given a topic and each one of us had to express our views.
Tips: Don't get nervous, just speak whatever you think. Don't yell or speak at loudly, just keep calm and put your points forward.
Duration: 20 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Apart from the above questions some puzzles and DBMS questions and a few basic C questions were also asked. We were given enough time to think and answer.
Tips: Do not be in a hurry. Think properly what you are going to say, whether it is right or not and then only answer.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: The HR round was a good one. He tried to test my thinking capabilities and reasoning capabilities
Tips: Answer every question honestly.

General Tips: All the four rounds were elimination rounds and the final result was announced based on cumulative performance. So, be patient and give your best.
Skill Tips: Try to answer every properly
Skills: IQ, Basic Coding Skills, Problem Solving Skills

Round: Test
Experience: The type of questions mainly comprised of aptitude, dbms, data structures, operating system, object oriented programming, networking and few basic questions on C programming language.
Tips: For Object Oriented programming  the book entitled as THINKING IN C++ volume 1 by BRUCE EKEL proved to be very useful.For C, read Dennis Ritchie thoroughly atleast twice.
Duration: 60 minutes
Total Questions: 45 or 50

Round: Problem Statement
Experience: The questions didn't make use of any tough algorithms. The solution too was quite simple but on the contrary there were several test cases which we generally overlook.
Tips: Sometimes practicing tough questions, we stumble across easy ones, so always start learning things from the ground level. Stay calm.

Round: Other Interview
Experience: It was managerial interview and i expressed myself in the best way i could . The interviewer tried to trap me in my own answer but somehow i managed to satisfy him by my answers.
Tips: Stay confident and be yourself.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Initially, i gave naive approach to the solution but the interviewer gave me sometime to improvise the solution and i ended up with solution with log n complexity.
Tips: Practice coding questions based on Data Structures as much as possible but look at the solutions only after the exhaustive attempts of self trials.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: This round was bit tough . To answer the questions on semaphore, you need to have very basic knowledge of the topic.
Tips: System programming book by Richard Stevens provides deep insight of the concepts.Have strong grip on subject knowledge too.

General Tips: 1) Once you kick off a start to practicing coding questions and understanding the concepts, you actually enjoy things.2) Group Study plays a very crucial role. Discuss questions with your friends and your seniors.3) If initially you get bulk of errors in programming questions , don't get disheartened .Try to run the program by compiling each and every line thoroughly and eventually you will end up with successful compilation and that happiness is priceless.
Skill Tips: Have a command on your domain.
Skills: programming Skills, communication skills, Skills to handle the situation.

Funny Moments: when the result was declared with me and my friend both got selected, we both started jumping and crying aloud infront of everyone out there.And at the end when we were given chocolates , there was another box containing t-shirts ..and i was constantly looking there in the hope that soon, we would be given t-shirts too but to the dismay the handed all of them over to the third party :(
