Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Aptitude : The questions were really simple. A student preparing for CAT will not find it difficult to solve almost all the questions. Preparation from any of the CAT material would be sufficient.
Technical : Almost every question were from communication part. There was also one question from fiber optics
Duration: 30 minutes
Total Questions: 25

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: It was done in a group of 6. Make sure you raise some good points. Even if you can raise a single good point that would be sufficient.
Tips: Participate in mock gd with your friends. Practice helps a lot in this

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: The interview was HR+Technical one. The interview started off with the usual one "tell me about yourself?" and then I was asked about my internship. Having an internship in microwave or communication related field will be greatly useful. They specifically asked about the telecom field, including what all happens while making a phone call, the difference between 3g and 4g etc. It is good to have an overall technical overview of the telecom industry than having indepth knowledge of other fields in this interview because they are interested in testing your knowledge in telecom industry only.
The HR will ask a few questions about your higher studies, why airtel and stuff.
Tips: Be prepared for the HR questions. Even though the questions are almost same for all interviews the answers should be ready. It shows your seriousness and interest.

Skill Tips: Having a balanced technical and managerial profile is the one that they are looking for
Skills: Ability To Work In A Team, Leadership Skills, Telecommunication Knowledge

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Total Questions: Aptitude

General Tips: Unlike most other people in college, I kept all options open. I learnt decent level of coding, I learnt about case-studies. Only thing I did not do and I think I should have done is practice of aptitude. I managed to get shortlisted in most of companies but still I feel preparing for aptitude quants would have definitely helped. I gave CAT, probably because everyone was giving, but did not really prepare. Preparing for CAT is actually a good idea, not because MBA is good, but because it will help you in placements. Keep an open mind. Try out everything. So, here it is, tip : keep all options open if you don’t know which way to go. Be open minded

Funny Moments: I saw many people not learning coding thinking it to be tough without even giving it an actual try. Coding is one of the easiest and most interesting things to do. It is better than doing quants of profit-loss, percentages etc.! But obviously, it will be better if you do both.
