While recruiting, they will not clearly explain all the requirements. After you join, they start saying rotational shift, No allowance for night shifts, You have to work outside your login hours to cover US meeting or urgent projects. They say CAB will be provided but it will be bus - point pickup, its the worst. It will pick you up so early and drop you 30 mins early before your shift starts. No allowance, no reimbursement of any sorts. After you join, Nobody cares. Nobody will introduce themselves or the project or the work. Everything is so robotic. Going from Tech to bank is so difficult.

Tech stack is very old. Politics at high level. Learning is very poor. Now a days cost cutting in all area. It was very good company few years back but it no more.

... have removed all the QAs, but entire work in Wells Fargo is focused on testing.So, as a coder, you will also be doing testing only mostly then when time comes for cost-cutting, be ready to be kicked out. If you want to grow in your career and want to work on new technologies, stay away from this company, you will not learn new things and when you will be asked to leave, you’ll have hard time finding new job. Managers have no idea what is happening, why they are hired for and gets scared of their own job leading to blaming the team and some unlucky once suffers. Never join this company if you have any loans running, because you will be fired suddenly. I’ve seen people getting fired for performance issues after working in Wells Fargo for 9 years

Employees are equipped with the tools and environment to try out new process/technologies also enabling employees with pool of learning tools. You have a space to showcase your good work. Very flexible in terms of leaves. Work life balance is also good but mostly depends on your project.

Dislikes

...more flexible in terms of working from anywhere which is not the case currently. Secondly, compensation hike are not so lucrative. Choice is yours whether to move ahead or not.

Dislikes

Micromanagement of highest level from US management (Who are actually Indians at higher management positions). Very very stringent and rigid timelines. Long hours. Highly non technical managers running the show who think every aspect of application development only from the database end. You have to fill in for team mates when they are not available. Too much of grilling even if the delay is due to Infra issues or unclear requirements. Far from using agile. Every one here has a waterfall mindset even though the project is agile. Due dates are just for the purpose of maintaining data. They will start asking you to deliver the next day from when the story is assigned. Manager decides what story will take how much time and how many points. Apart from database work, API and UI work is just 2 minutes job. As per them, you cannot have any complexities when it comes to API and UI. Nothing new to learn. Old processes and mostly legacy applications getting migrated to new frameworks but approach is still ancient.
