They don't give the salary and benefits they have promised. There is no job security. They is no room for learning and applying. They give negligible hike or no hike. The people are non cooperative. Bad working environment. They don't give freshers a fair chance to learn and prove themselves.

...s not doing well after the loss and billion dollar suite. Join on your own risk. Initial pay is good and no hikes there after. Now a new lawsuit in UK also . Don't know wat happens now . Some senior architects expect us to get results which they know although there are may different approaches.

Likes

Only brand name. On time salary. No challenging work as you will work with dumb people around. Leads act like overlords.

Dislikes

Bad manager. Harrassment from colleagues and peers. Poor quality work. Hire and fire. Layoffs and Business unit closures are frequent. Super politics. They harrass you to leave the job. Deadly 3 months notice period.

Likes

1. You will not be held down by the technologies you know. There are opportunities to move to different teams and learn new technologies. 2. Most of the teams are generally good to work with. They support each other. They stretch when needed. Many go out of their way if you need help. 3. Flexible office hours. 4. Unlimited sick leaves. (Not sure how long this would stay) People generally don't take sick leaves even though they're unlimited. Company is forcing people to take leaves be introducing wellness day. They cut 1 day of your PL every quarter. So you are forced to take an off on that day.

Dislikes

1. Every year a employee benefits are getting removed as part of cost cutting. Many got silently removed without anyone getting to know. 2. Bad decisions at top level are costing dearly. Some businesses were sold off to concentrate on healthcare. These ended up being highly profitable after moving out. New companies were acquired and good Philips products were shut down to prevent overlap. Then you realise the new products are not up to the mark when you compare them to the products that were shut down.

Likes

If you are placed in a good business project, you will be satisfied. As an Indian designer you will be looked at as a factory worker generating screens. All the senior designer positions are based out of Europe or US. If you are happy with it, you will like it here. I don't.

Dislikes

The Philips culture seems schizophrenic. Your salary will be based out of India but everything else will be compared to your global counterparts. There is absolutely no clarity on career progressions. Internal bureaucracy is rampant and work just happens without any strategic vision or goal. Don't get fooled bu their tagljne improving people's lives. They only care of investor money. Whenever that is affected they will reorg or do some gymnastic but it's the employees who are penalised at the end. No transparency. HR is the most terrible. They won't do anything. Even for serious complaints. So that's it.
