Salary Expectations
I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?

It’s tough when you see such salary differences but 7-8lpa is a reasonable range to expect

Based on your experience, 7-8 LPA seems like a reasonable expectation in the current market. However, it's crucial to be flexible and realistic.

That’s quite a gap in salary...Do you think the difference in experience levels could be one of the reasons behind it?

Wow, 6 LPA being considered high? What do you think is the main reason HRs are hesitant to offer that amount?

Feels a bit off, right? How do you plan to approach HR to explain why your expectations are in line with your experience?

Do you think the company has set salary bands that are rigid, or is it more about negotiating the right fit?

It’s frustrating when the numbers don’t match your experience. Do you think you might need to prove yourself more through additional training or certifications?
