Working at IBM was a good experience as the company really provides Job security and has various opportunities to grow and explore our career in large varity of opportunities provided by this mega plateform of services.

Dislikes

The only and improtant aspect of working is for earning money and expecting increase of compensation in every financial year is not a very good experience working with IBM, however wages are biggest challenge in IBM its very difficult to get appraisal every year in IBM.

I take pride that I am part of IBM. It's a brand that has been contibuting for the society with new technologies/ patents every year. It's a huge organisation that has shown resilience and bounced back into competition. Its size and complex internal process makes it a bit sluggish to maneuver the sharp bends introduced by fast changing consumer needs and emerging trends. However, what makes it so special is that it's still a leader in innovation and introducing new technologies which other companies leverage to build their products on. It's a process driven and employee centric organisation. Work culture of IBM is awesome, its all based on trust. No other organisation as per my knowledge trusts its employees as much as my IBM. IBM invest a lot in training and development. After joining IBM I have completed ITIL Foundation, ITIL Intermediate, ISO Auditor, Agile, Data Science training and certification. Its just in a span of 5 years, which I could not do in my previous 12 years of career with Dell and DRDO. Since it's a process driven organisation, its ethically very strong. It has very strong compliance and security processes.

Dislikes

... its massive size and hierarchal/ matrix structure transparancy takes a beating. IBM lately began working on few initiatives to increase employee salary structure.

Company changed working hours plolicy without employee constent or salary hike. Earlier we use to do 9 hour plolicy including break now we are advised to do 10 hour including intervals. cafeteria food price and quality manager behaviour

Varied exposure. Due to lack of budget management will get most of the high end task done by you thereby increasing the exposure.

...agement i worked with was not skilled and GA was managed by PTP and OTC leaders Bad pay - increments and perks are really bad Office politics - no value for work if you are good at dancing or singing or anchoring management might favour you. If you are good at work they will drill you. Management company - there is no HR so the rule of manager is final. I witnessed few harassment casses wherein a female employee was abused by manager and on her complaint there was no action. No promotions - there is no 18 or 24 month criteria. Even if you are top rater they at first will make false promises of promotion and later will reject your promotion. Self centered management - the management is so self centered they even jeopardize the careers of innocent. I witnessed few cases where people were asked to resign or else threatened to be given PIP. No formal documentation of roles and responsibilities also even sometimes they mislead org chart or hierarchy. Delayed FNF - management is unaware about FNF policy or relieving formalities which result in delay of FNF. My FNF is pending for more than 2 months and after several escalations i get no resolution. Micro management and pathetic work life balance with no wfh policy. I had to fight with management to allow my team to take 1 wfh a week.

They don't paid salary as per the work. Less job security with zero skills development. no work culture even they force employees to come on Saturday and Sunday when there is no such a requirement in project. employees when there is no requirement in project. work culture is very poor and they don't allow their employees to educate on various skills development programmes.
