While Zydus Life Sciences has many strengths, there are several areas where improvement is needed to enhance the overall employee experience. Transportation Quality: The maintenance of company buses leaves much to be desired, with frequent breakdowns and subpar conditions. Furthermore, the continued use of non-AC, overcrowded buses poses discomfort and safety concerns for employees, especially during peak hours. Insurance Policy: The current insurance policy lacks comprehensive coverage and fails to adequately address the needs of employees and their families. Enhancements in coverage and accessibility to healthcare services are necessary to ensure the well-being of all staff members. Salary Discrimination: The practice of salary discrimination based on the college or institute attended is unfair and demotivating for employees. Compensation should be based on skills, experience, and job performance rather than educational background. Three-Year Bond Policy: The imposition of a three-year bond policy restricts employee mobility and career growth opportunities. Such stringent policies can hinder talent acquisition and retention efforts. Food Quality: The quality of food provided to employees is below standard and does not meet basic hygiene and nutritional requirements. Improvements in food quality and variety are essential to promote employee health and well-being. Reward and Recognition: There is a lack of a robust reward and recognition system to acknowledge employee contributions and achievements. Implementing a formal program to recognize and reward outstanding performance can boost morale and motivation. Dependency on Old Machinery: Relying on outdated machinery negatively impacts employee efficiency and safety. Investing in modern equipment and technology is essential to enhance productivity and employee satisfaction. While Zydus Life Sciences undoubtedly has its strengths, there are areas where improvements could greatly enhance the employee experience. One such area pertains to the current five-day working week policy, which, while introduced as an alternative, lacks adequate justification for its implementation. The five-day working week, although presented as an alternative, does not sufficiently consider the needs and preferences of employees. Moreover, the lack of flexible timings further compounds the issue. The restriction to only one permissible hour for early departure, contingent upon the use of personal transportation, poses a significant inconvenience to employees who may have varying schedules or transportation arrangements. This rigidity in scheduling not only limits employees' ability to manage their work-life balance effectively but also fails to acknowledge the diverse needs and responsibilities outside of the workplace. Without the option for flexible timings, employees may find themselves constrained by rigid schedules that do not align with their individual circumstances. To foster a more supportive and accommodating work environment, Zydus Life Sciences should reconsider its approach to scheduling and flexibility. This could involve revisiting the rationale behind the five-day working week policy and exploring more inclusive options for flexible timings that accommodate the diverse needs of employees. By prioritizing flexibility and adaptability, Zydus Life Sciences can better support its workforce and cultivate a more positive and productive work environment.
