Dislikes
NOTE: These are my personal experiences and may not apply to everyone, but they were significant during my time here.
- Lack of Focus on Technical Growth: The company seemed more focused on other business areas, neglecting the technical department. This led to minimal investment in technical growth.
The management themself lacked motivation to grow the tech department.
- SaaS Product: The company has a very basic version of a SaaS application, while the market has competitors with more advanced features and better focus.
- No Quality Standards: There were no enforced standards for development, resulting in poor product quality.
- Small Team: The technical team consists of just two members, which limits learning and growth opportunities.
- No Recognition or Motivation: There were no promotions, appreciations, or motivation to keep improving. Atleast not even the festival wishes man😁, where as same level of startup companies providing bonuses and gifts to their employees.
- Unfair Compensation Structure: Compensation was basic and fixed across all levels—beginners, intermediates, and experts earned the same salary, which can definetly feel demotivating.
- Salary Delays: Salary delays became a major issue. Initially, it was fine, but for the last 5-6 months, salaries were delayed by 1-2 months and there is no guarantee , and employees had to constantly follow up for payment. Even then, responses from the so-called "serial Entrepreneur" / CEO and HR were often delayed or ignored. Always blaming Razorpay eventhough everyting was clear from their side.
If the company was facing financial difficulties, they should have communicated that clearly. Instead, they kept promising to pay "tomorrow" without delivering, which feels like Childishness.
I worked at this company for 1.5 years. I decided to resigned due to salary delays. Toward the end, the company still has to pay approximately 3 months of salary for me, and after multiple attempts ( I asked my salary for more than 2 months) about salary with the "Serial Entrepreneur" and HR, there was not even a response.
After all,
I decided to donate my due payment on our so-called CEO to educate him in learning professional ethics and proper entrepreneurship.
