TCS has disapointed in lot many areas like: 1. Appraisal and Promotions - Very old school and unclear policies. Your project manager decides everything and HR directs manager to delay everything. 2. Annual increments - This is even less than Inflation rate. Not even close to what they disclose in media. 3. Work quality is very poor here. Problem is that if you ask for release from a project since work quality is poor, you will not get a release and manager will purposefully give you a poor appraisal. Nothing, you will just learn business aspects. As far as technical side is concerned, you have to manage time and do everything on your own, not as advertised.

A lot. Wouldn't go into the details. It depends on your project, which infact you have no control of, even on your role. They'll give any role irrelevant to your strength, resource management is poorest. Learning you have to do on your own, for me i was working an average of 11 hours for past 3 years, with no overtime facility. Don't trust the HRs, even though they specifically ask you to trust them. After i resigned, they will say they will give better compensation but they do not even give a rough figure and say they will give in writing once you take back your resignation, do not fall for this trap, it will never meet your expectation and always have some clauses. If you choose to resign, make sure you are mentally strong. They will keep calling you with different numbers and ask the reason for resignation and convince you to "Trust your HR", atleast 15 calls from different people in TCS. In the notice period they will kill you from inside and won't let you take leaves even though you are entitled to sick leaves and flexi. It's not specific about TCS, but for a beginner the compensation expansion seems very less. However recently it seems they've announced some exams to promote oneself to higher roles exhibiting one's skillset.
