Work culture is okay and workload on usual days is manageable. Job security is a plus. Tons of projects even if one project closes.

Compensation is too low as compared to market standard. No sense of Rewards and bonus to loyal and hardworking employees

Nothing, apart from the fact that it is my first IT Organisation. Also, the medical insurance policy that TCS provides in India, is one of the best in class from every angle like - coverage, benefits, and even domiciliary claims.

Dislikes

Countless things to say. It is a place for few fortunate ones who can become manager's blue eyed associate by unfair means. No Organisation is bad, it's their employees, HR and senior management who create the work culture and make it good or bad. Some of the very niche characteristicsof this Organization's culture, 1. Hazy Policies 2. Favoritism and Partiality 3. Poor Remuneration especially at Onsite locations 4. Worst Promotion policy 5. Very frequent changes in policies 6. Appraisal process is full of anomalies 7. Manager's are never accountable 8. No Training policy for Freshers. Only 3 months ILP and then push them to projects or to bench. These 3 months training is nothing and not good enough to develop skills. Company expects a fresher will learn from work in real projects. That's too much of an ask and very risky for the project as well. 9. No clear career development path 10. The only Tata Group Company which does not have a human touch or pro-employee policies / benefits. There are so many other things which I can mention based on my experience in TCS. It is becoming the worst place to work over the last one decade. Employees are forced into unfavourable situation in the name of Cost savings. Giving one personal example - I just returned back from US couple of months back due to a visa issue and have applied for fresh stamping. in the mean time my Project which is based at Noida wanted me to transfer from my base location Kolkata to Noida. Since I am subject to visa stamping and then will return back to US, I wanted a deputation instead of transfer. Deputation means I will be paid a little extra in terms of deputation allowances, on top of my salary. Project management denied that in the name of cost savings and forced me to take transfer to Noida without any extra pay. Now I am in Noida staying alone and bearing double cost of settlement as I did not bring my family here as I did not want to disturb them after returning from US....Read More

I joined TCS as a Subject Matter Expert on Energy & Utilities Industry. I had lots of dreams and faith that TCS will leverage my hands on experience and I can also grow big by helping in cutting edge, pro-Industry solutions which was never fulfilled.
